I was sitting on his couch with my legs curled up in front of me, balancing my heels on the edge of the couch, twiddling my toes and afraid that they might be eaten by his cat. My arms rested on my knees, folded, pre-teen-style.
"What's the matter?" He was sprawled out across the couch with his ankles tucked into that crevace just behind mine.
"nothing" I watched the television intently, waiting for the characters on the screen to do something fantastic. They didn't.
"Hey...come here." He gently grabbed my wrist, pulling me on top of him.
"That's all you miss."
He joined me in staring at the TV. "Who gave you this?" He smiled at me, his eyes softer this time as he stroked my fingers with his free hand and spun a bracelet around my wrist, the bracelet he gave me a year and a half ago.
I looked at it and smiled, not sure if he was asking out of ignorance or being coy, then returned to watching the television.
He stared at the television. "You know what I miss?" he asked, still staring at the TV. "I miss watching Wings."
