First off, if any of you haven't yet heard, please forgive me.... Devlin is now off the BiliBed; his bilirubin levels dropped below 10 when they tested him on Monday. (I may have already given this info, but in case I haven't and folks are curious... "normal" bili levels are around 3 or 4... "dangerous" levels are considered to be anything over 20. He was just over 20 last Tuesday when they sent us to the hospital; he was at 17 the next day, and down to a high 14 when they discharged him Wednesday evening. At his ped appt on Friday, he was only down to 13 something... but at his ped appt on Monday, he was down to 9 something!) That means that we can hold him and cuddle him to our hearts content now! His eyes still have a slight hint of yellow, but he's definitely recovering.
Sadly, he has in the past day or so gone from an "almost never spits up" boy to one who does so less often than his oldest sister did, but when he does, he is beginning to be profuse about it....
He is still painfully cute. I have no expectation that this will change.
And, I had a new experience... yesterday? I think? (I admit, staying home with him and operating on his schedule, I'm having trouble keeping track of what day it is) I came home to a box from Amazon.com - but I hadn't ordered anything recently!
So, I opened it up. While I've had people buy me things off of my amazon.com/Babies R Us registry before, no one had ever used amazon's tool whereby you buy something from a registry and they send it to the ship to address associated with the registry for you. But that appears to have changed now!
And I must add, while they'll be getting personal thanks too, both of the friends who have purchased something off of our registry so far have shown EXCELLENT judgement despite neither of them ever having had kids.... the first thing I got was the same item that I would have labelled as most urgent (after the car seat, which I bought myself), and the second thing I got was the one that I had been seriously considering buying when I was at Target the previous day [or maybe it was earlier that day] rather than waiting to see if someone would buy it for me because I wanted it pronto. I'm glad to have it, though - I love our Boppy!!!!
