So I'm sitting waiting for my 6th an last IUI. I have to admit, it's a little bit of a relief that this is the last one. On to (eventually) the IVF, which I have a little more faith in. IUIs are so last year...
So anyways, for these IUI appointments, you can make a best guess as to when you will have to go in, but it all depends on when you get your LH surge. So you find out the day before that you have to go in. Awesomely convenient when you have to work and your boss is on vacation an your boss's boss doesn't even work on the same part of town. So I sent her an email saying that I had a call for a last-minute doctors appointment and that I will need to be off between 10 and 12 today, sorry for the short notice, but I've been waiting for this for months (no lies there, but I didn't tell her that I was trying to get pregnant on her watch mind you). Pretty much I'm torn between ok ask for the last minute time off and just take off for a couple of hours, or call in sick and get the whole day off. Obviously I prefer option 1, who knows when I will need that precious sick time. So anyways, my boss finally emails me back and tells me that if it is something that I "absolutely" can't schedule out of work hours, then she reluctantly agrees that I can go... Lady, I'm going one way or the other. I can't wait until I ask for a half day 4 times a year for CF clinic... Or when I do get knocked up and I have to go in to CF clinic every month, plus Obgyn appointments, and endochronologist appointments!!! She thinks two hours is bad... Not to mention that right now at work, we are doing zilch. Zilch. Today what I am missing is siting around chatting about how we do nothing. No joke. This afternoon we are going mini-golfing for team building. Not to mention half the team is either on vacation or only works part-time. We don't get clients until September so it's super slow right now.
I hope the medical appointment thing doesn't get her worked up too much. I'll have to drop the CF bomb on her sooner I guess. I have a feeling she won't be the greatest about it.
Oh well!! As Jordan says, some things are just way more important than work. So true.
