I have become obsessed with earthquakes since I moved to California. I constantly check the USGS website. I thought California was supposed to be notorious for feeling quakes everyday. I mean, don't get me wrong, they DO happen several times a day, but I DON'T EVER FEEL THEM! I have felt only one in January shortly after I arrived here. It was 3.8 located about 30 miles east of Monterey (right on the fault line). I was laying in bed (Chad was downstairs and didn't feel anything) and the bed starting to vibrate for approximately 7 seconds. Then it was over. BORING. Nothing on the walls shook, and I'm pretty sure I was the only one in Monterey who even felt it.
Now, I'm finding myself feeling EVERY little shake in every building I'm in and then rushing to check to the USGS website. I know, I'm crazy. But it's like, I REALLY WANT TO EXPERIENCE A REAL EARTHQUAKE. But all the cool ones seem to happen north in San Francisco, or all the way down in LA.
I know I sound ridiculous. This is about as stupid as someone saying "I WANT TO BE STRUCK BY LIGHTNING" or something. but omggg I just want to know what it's like!!!!!!
