I brought Edward to Shenzhen yesterday. He was there 2 days ago for business and managed to sneak into Lo Wu for short while and spotted this set of golf clubs that he wanted to buy.
Feeling itchy for 2 days, he took leave yesterday and asked me to bring him in to buy. It was a nice day trip to SZ with him. He was like this sua koo who didn't know where to go and it felt good to know that I know where to go and what to do.. hehe... sometimes, you gotta feel like the CEO, you know?
Our first stop was at the tailor's where he made 2 suits- one formal business and one casual off white linen and a pair of corduroy brown pants. We paid about HK1190 in total, and they will even send it to my place direct! I don't even need to take the train to collect it for him. He was already super pleased.
Our 2nd stop was at Laurel where one waits like crazy for a table. Being a veteran SZ shopper, I have already took a queue number before we went to the tailor. So when we went back to Laurel, there was already a table for us. I ordered a 椰子雪蛤黑鸡汤 (tonic soup)for him and he really loved it! Alamak... then he requested for black chicken soup back home this week.
After filling our stomach, I went to my usual Kipling store and bought some bags for X'mas presents. Again, he found this Hedgren laptop backpack which he likes and got one for himself.
The funniest had to be this lady who was trying to sell me a fake Cartier. I really quite like the design and was going to get one for fun. After she put it on, I looked at it and told her that I want to see the A class one( supposedly the better imitation). As she was attempting to take the watch out of my hand, the catch was stuck. I jokingly told her that if she can't take it out, it's mine. To cut the long story short, she really couldn't get it out and had to use a screwdriver to take it out. Needless to say, I parted with my Cartier.
Then it was the golf shop that Edward has his heart and eyes on. I bargained like hell for him because he looks like Eduardo Fernando and spoke with a funny Chinese accent. I managed to get a set of golf clubs plus a free glove and a dunno what thrown in. As we were about to cross the custom, one of the wheels of the golf bag came off!! We laughed so hard at the customs, I think the custom officer must think we are quite mad. Thankfully, we were still at SZ side, so we lugged the bag back to the shop where Ms Tang Meng Choo made her 2 cents worth very very loud ah.
At the end of the day, it was a very satisfying day for my husband who got himself a new golf set/bag, 2 suits, 1 pants, 1 laptop bag and oh yes.. he got a nice Prada jacket too.
