Doctor Who

What else am I going to talk about?! Well, I could talk about The Office, but I still haven't continued watching S3 yet. I will! I promise. After this Saturday and I see the finale for DW :P

Okay, so I'm relatively caught up on Doctor Who episodes, meaning I've seen the latest episodes.

"Turn Left"

- Oh Donna. I'm really glad that I didn't really know of Catherine Tate before this because I've never wondered if she could handle the material given to her. I've seen since "The Runaway Bride" that she's good, so it's both unsurprising and awesome to see her at the top of her game.

- Rose was fine in the episode (my God, it feels weird to talk about her! I don't think I've mentioned her in my DW posts this season since "Partners in Crime"), although I would have liked her to expand on her reasoning for not sharing information. Like, why saying Bad Wolf was okay, but not her name.

- I don't think she sounded as bad as some made out. It did seem at times like she was clinching her jaw though, but it definitely wasn't OMG SO HORRIBLE.

- Just a quick thing, I remember reading people saying that Rose has become more like the Doctor. DO NOT LIKE/WANT. For anyone. Because that means they're more like Ten, and OMG, we don't need more Tens. He's fucking enough.

- We could use more Nines. Totally gonna watch "The End of the World" later.

- ARGH, they had to bring back that damned No Salute thing. Fucking annoying.

- Okay, so when the two were in the TARDIS, and Rose sort of touches Donna's back and asks if she wants to see it, was anyone else really weirded out by the way Billie played that? Her little smile and the way she said it, it felt creepy to me. And then when Donna was in that circle and could see the...spider? Whatever it was, and Rose said something else and her tone and look was creepy again. Was weird.

- Are they suggesting with Wilf what I think they were? Oh you guys, I love that man so much. I WILL HURT SOMEONE IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO HIM, I AM NOT KIDDING.

- I like what RTD did with Donna here. Had her whole growth that we've seen gradually (sort of) and had it in one episode. Seemed a bit pointless while at the same time seemed important for us to see. I've no idea why.

- I'm not the biggest fan of RTD's episodes, this wasn't anything I'd call the best, but it was solid. I don't like some of the things he brings to his episodes, he seems to want to inject parental issues (I liked him mentioning Donna's father, though) and he doesn't seem to think that the majority of humans know how to handle a crisis. Which he might use to put companions and their families above them, but it just pisses me off. For this episode, that complaint is minor though, as it can just be put up to worse case scenario.

- Although, Donna's mother? I just...*mutters to self: if you can't say anything nice, don't say it at all...unless it's about Ten*

"The Stolen Earth"

- What was up with Bad Wolf if it's completely dropped the next fucking episode!?

- Here, RTD's faith in humanity is shown again. Well, his utter LACK of faith in us keeping our heads together. Unlike, "Turn Left", it fucking burned here.

- Just quick things about Rose because that's all I have: I liked the majority of her screen time (that includes when she scared off the two teens, found that very Rose-like for some reason, probably how Billie played it, just like GitF, she likes the guns, heh), and while I understood her frustration in not getting through with the transmission, it was unnecessary (IMHO) for her to make comments like everyone was purposefully ignoring her. But I put shame on RTD, he knows full well that her frustration could have been shown differently, and more constructively.

- One more thing, didn't care for Rose's reaction to the Doctor's regeneration, that's it, done talking about it.

- Would be nice (or not, don't know) to be a Ten/Rose shipper like RTD. I'm sorry. *mutters again: don't have anything nice to say...*

- WILL NOT COMMENT ON ENDING except to say I will be PISSED if it's a cop-out ;P Which, come on, does anyone really believe this won't be some sort of fake-out?

- Will people please stop teasing Donna about her impending DOOM? Just fucking tell her what the hell you're talking about!

- Man, it was tough watching Donna this week. Her travels are similar to Martha's in that she loves it, but it keeps throwing all these curves at her and beating her down. Kudos to Catherine, she definitely showed the stress that just seemed to be coming down on Donna, and you couldn't help but want to hug her (or make Wilf appear to cuddle her).

- She's still SO good for the Doctor though. While I don't think the same vice versa (DUDE, he so could have been more comforting to her than he was, HER FUCKING PLANET IS MISSING), they're a good team.

- DOUBLE HEARTBEATS?!

- Cannot wait to see what's happening with Donna in the finale.

- Oh Sarah Jane! Heh, and Luke. It must be so much different for her to go through all this, now with a son.

- Team Torchwood was great! Nice seeing them work together, looking forward to the episodes they're doing next year because THEY CANNOT KILL THEM ON TORCHWOOD, RIGHT?!

- OH HARRIET. I was always wondering if those spoilers about her being the bad guy came from anywhere, but it must have been just speculation about her actually coming back. I LOVE that she stuck to her guns, still believed in what she did, still protecting her people. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THAT TEN? She fucking died for you (yeah, in a way she did). I love you Harriet, and rest in peace.

- I know some of you did, but how come not EVERYONE is talking about the fact that her signal was the drums?!

- Did y'all really think I'd go the whole post without mentioning Martha? ;)

Very nice to see her doing well with UNIT. And hey! I bet modern New York was better than 1930s New York. I feel sorry for that city. Never catches a break when this planet gets taken over.

I LOVED HER GOING TO HER MOTHER. I've seen people gloating about the fact that she didn't go to her fiancé (fucking hell, we're back on that again?), but it was actually quite wonderful to see this instead (yeah, I'm a momma's girl). While Francine was overbearing last season, she loves her daughter very much. That's very obvious. She only wants her safe, and it was so sweet to see her mother RUSH down those stairs to get to Martha (No, no tears at that). And it's sort of like a counterpoint to last season, at the end of the world, Martha had to leave, and now when it's the end of the world, she goes and stays with her mom.

It was a bit suspicious though, that at the end of the episode we see where everyone is, Jack, Donna and Rose with the Doctor, Sarah Jane on her way to the Doctor and intercepted, Torchwood defending themselves and everything and we didn't see what Martha was doing. I suspect a surprise save?

(I even have a guess as to how Sarah Jane might be saved!)

That Osterhagen(??) Key was interesting. We has the general (or whoever, I wasn't paying that much attention, heh) made it seem like she'll need to use it and Harriet was very adamant that she not use it, never, ever, ever. Very mysterious and suspect.

I adored seeing that Martha was trying to stick around to the New York base to do her job. OH MARTHA. I loved when she was talking to Jack and he said something about hoping she slipped him something in his drink. Does that mean they go out for drinks?! Awesome, it's canon for me :D

- It was really interesting to see Jack so panicky about Martha getting out. RTD did wonderfully, subtly and blatantly, showing what the loss of Tosh and Owen did to the team.

- The Daleks and Davros were awesome. I've typed myself out, sorry.

HOLY FRICK, I can't believe I was able to go on like that. And YES you guys, I'm excited for the finale!
