So here I am in Lowell, MA. I feel like I’m home. My apartment is AWESOME! Now all I need to do is find internet so I can get to a Target to complete the setting up of my room today and stuff. I also found a nice little Irish Pub with cold water and inexpensive Turkey Burgers. I’m so in love with this town right now it’s not even funny. It’s pretty empty here for lunch though. I love that I am able to walk to work! How awesome. The funniest thing to me is that it is just like walking to work from my apartment in Marquette, only this feels like it will be more likely to happen. I get to walk through down town which is also really nice. I do need to get some pepper spray or something along those lines. Other than that I have to walk about 5 blocks or so in ghetto to get home (which is in a bit of a ghetto, but it could be MUCH worse). I love it here. I can’t wait to see the theater. It’s the next stop along the line. That and I need to find myself a hotspot. It would be really cool if it was on the way to work. Or maybe I can actually convince myself to get internet in the apartment.
My roommates are interesting people. Ginny is 46 and is, I think a former alcoholic. She was a theater person in time past which is awesome because she knows what my life will hold. Haily is 19. Her waist is about the size of my left thigh. She seems like a nice girl, though very very naïve. You can tell she’s a bit afraid of this ghetto we live in, but you know I really think it’s that bad. She’s more small-town than I am. I didn’t think that was possible living this close to Boston!
Strange fact- the water here is really good! I was pleasantly surprised when I found that out last night, chugging it after I moved half my crap upstairs. Note to self, next time I get an apartment, it will be second floor or lower! Ack. I don’t think sweating really covered what it was that I was doing. :-P I also don’t think I have stopped sweating yet! That might be my goal in life, to stop sweating. But alas, my meal is done and so there for is my ranting. I think I will probably come back here again. What a nice quiet place. Wonder what it’s like at night. Maybe it’s the Irish pub I was looking for? Then again… maybe not. We’ll have to see what the people at the theater are like! T minus three days until work starts. -Sept 5, 2008 The Old Court Restaurant 11:58 AM
