Home again, home again...

...  no jiggety jig thought ;-)

So I am back in my flat after my few days away. Events of the trip included three stone circles, two riverside walks, one climb to a waterfall, a ride on a steam train (twice), a visit to a nuclear power plant, checking out roman ruins, visiting the oldest working mill in England, a great deal of time just wandering on the beach, eating less than impressive meals (Ravenglass is rubbish for food) and revisiting Grasmere.

All in all a full and worthwhile trip. A few pics may end up in my facebook folder later on. Far too many were taken, far too few actually worked out.

It was good to get away and I really should do it more often. A bit of distance from all things stressful really does help put perspective on things. Ravenglass was lovely and quiet and a great place to chill out. Even the owners of the B&B were friendly but not too intrusive and in your face. (it is one of the things I hate about B&Bs - the owners seem to want to pry into every aspect of your holiday and life when all I want is a place to sleep and be ignored). I would have stayed an extra day but they were fully booked. There was no room at the inn and as I was not heavily pregnant with the new messiah I did not qualify for stable space...  I should have gone away for longer.

That said it is also very good to be back. The bed at the hotel was very uncomfortable and resulted in me waking up every hour or so during the night while I was there. I will never complain about my bed again!  Today I had planned a day trip east but when the alarm went off this morning I was just too exhausted. Recovery day/night today I think.

But tonight aside I am hitting the ground running. Over the next 8  nights I will be working 6 of them - starting Friday with a 45 hour weekend. So much for easing myself back into things.   Maybe a movie tonight or a quiet night in... see what options present themselves.
