So, there's been a change of plans. Or should I say, a solidification of plans? I had a chat with my receiving manager, the visual manager and the store manager yesterday. That was a confusing way of putting it. Suffice to say that I talked with three people yesterday who really really really want to keep me on board at the store. Turns out that they're developing a position with me in mind that would put me on track to becoming a receiving manager myself.
They want to get me ready to take over those responsibilities at a new store that's going to be opening up in the Wrigleyville area around October. So cool.
Anyway, we talked about my pay rate and it's been adjusted to something a bit more reasonable. Which is good because I'm really tired of stressing out about that.
Now I just have to find a decent apartment for the end of May. And/Or a roommate.
Anyone wanting to move to Chicago in the very near future? No? Damn.
Well, I'll work it out. If I do decide that I want to stay with the company and pursue my art on the side, I can do that. But, I could also choose to leave after a year and do the grad school thing. It's all up in the air as far as that goes. One thing I've promised myself, however, is that since I am staying here for another year and will be making a bit more money, I'm going to look around at getting my work in some galleries. I need to start some new larger projects too.
Either way, it's going to resolve itself. I can never do anything for long that I don't love and I really have loved working in backstock.
