First day of school
Definitely could have been worse! My first class was 12th graders (henceforth referred to as sannensei) who were veeeery quiet. Didn’t want to ask questions, were surprised and hesitant when I asked them to introduce themselves. I finished early and wasn’t really sure what else to do. Luckily the teacher I was working with was very understanding.
Second period was the same lesson, different class. This one went much better; I slowed down the presentation and handed up paper, asking each person to ask a question about me or about Canada. The popular ones were ‘how old are you’ and ‘do you have a boyfriend.’ Oh - and one asked me if I was married. When I said no, she said, “But you’re wearing a ring!” I know Erin will be happy to hear it. XD
4th period, they had an assembly. I had to introduce myself in front of the entire school. x.x A little bit stressful. Had lunch and then managed my time in the staff room until 4:15.
Today I had ichinensei (10th graders) first period and then the rest of the day, no classes. I romanized the tracklist for the 11th Conan movie, then studied some Kansai-ben. Planning to go to the bank after school to see if there’s any way to pay off my credit back at home through Internet banking, if my JTE isn’t too busy to go with me. If she is, well, maybe I’ll relax for once. My apartment is a disaster again - no time to clean up before I leave in the mornings, and too tired to do so when I come home! Maybe I’ll go back to Kuzuha, though, and buy a wastebasket and possibly a hamper. We’ll see.
