manga: Mixed Vegetables Vol 3

I find it a bit weird that this school doesn’t seem to be more specialized. But then (A) I know nothing about American cooking schools, much less Japanese cooking schools, and (B) I do not care, as long as there is more food pr0n and cuteness.

But I must wonder how much longer the mangaka can carry things on now that Hana has already told her father she wants to be a sushi chef, received his blessing, started her apprenticeship, and figured out she loves Hayato. All that’s really left is for him to do the same. I hope that isn’t the focus of the entire next 5 volumes! (I looked.) Well, they also have to figure out how to open Japan’s first combination sushi bar and patisserie combination shop. Or something.

I’m kind of disappointed that the mangaka has confirmed the sensei’s gender. Like sensei, I was enjoying the mystery.

And I love Hayato’s family, especially his overly marketing oriented mother. It takes something special to use your husband and son for fanservice. What kind of “something special” that is is debatable. And I love Hana being offended at the pervert even thinking of touching something besides sushi in the shop.
