Black Cat Vol 12

So, apparently, when you get sidetracked from a manga for a few volumes, the part where the main character was turned into a kid isn’t the only thing you forget. Because I completely forgot that Sven’s second eye was a case of Manga Angsty Transference of Body Part at Dramatic Moment that lets him see a few seconds into the future.

Of course, I shouldn’t be blamed for that. This is also the kind of manga that has a talking, psychic, clothed monkey with super chi that lets it make itself into a duplicate of whoever it chooses. Things like that can make you forget little things like dying friends giving people their own eye.

I’m not sure what I think of Dr. Tearju. She seems pretty decent so far, but when you wonder about what kind of person makes a clone of themselves that’s a stoic, badass, pintsized super killing machine, you don’t picture a clutz with cooking issues. Eve dealt with all that much better than Train and Sven, as always. It’s because she’s teeny and stoic.

And Train is an adult again. And seems to have acquired a power-up in the process. I sincerely hope they aren’t all getting power-ups, and that Train’s isn’t too big. Not sure about Sephiria sending Kyoko back home. On the one hand, Kyoko will try to be good. On the other hand, she needs supervision. Also, Jenos should not be making speculative comments about the future of teenaged girls around Rinslet. It’s a good way to lose teeth. Literally.
