Reasons #239-240 that black armor should be more fashionable(especially if it has gold trimmings):
This thing is 100% shounen manga.
Ho Gae=worst villain ever. Ok, no, Kougaiji is worse. And Zuko. But I swear, it doesn't even occur to him that a person could lie or be devious or underhanded until...uhm...someone is. Then he's all "oh, you have a point!" or "my heart, it is shattered" depending on what it was.
I mean, really. Girl who's supposed to be loyal to you runs off to save your enemy, makes him pass out so he can't fight you(Probably because she knows you won't kill an unconscious man...well, not at this stage, at least. That may change.) then asks you to give her one night with him and she'll return at sunrise? And then you wait up for her all night and go bouncing in to see her when she gets back, and then you're shocked that...uhm...she loves the other guy and wants to run away with him? Oh, sweetie. You flipflop all over the place between naive woobie, noble warrior and extra-angsty-antagonist-in-training. *loves*
Kiha really is trying hard to be good, isn't she? Too bad it's doomed. Also, I predict Dam-Duk/Kiha baby.
Ho Gae's father really is something else. I think he inhaled his wife's soul after she died or some such. HE didn't seem to have all the machiavellian scheming in him before that. Of course, he's a lot saner.
Loved Sujini faking going mad trying to break out of prison. So people could tell her master she tried. *pets* And...when did she pick up the archery skills? Not, mind you, that I'm complaining at all, she just never showed it or hinted at it before.
PRISON BREAK!!! I loved the prison break. And Sujini vs Sa Nyang(or is it Na Syang?) Speaking of which, he seems to have a few Kiha issues, too. (Does she have some sort of perfume to make al the guys fall for her? I WANT IT! Actually, it's probably the sadness. Always works on these guys.) And...uhm...Jumuchi and his underlings and all their manga hair.
So, Ba Son is the sister of the kid who ran off scared with the one talisman? Did not see that one coming. (Because...uhm...I thought she was a boy in ep 2. TELL ME I WAS NOT ALONE!!!) Interesting. *wonders what it does to half-theory that Jumuchi was said boy*
Dam-Duk has now killed his first people. Well, the first ones on purpose. (Look, pwning a person so well at age 11 that you accidentally drive them to suicide is extremely impressive. Not many can do that!) And like any proper little shounen and/or epic fantasy hero, he is now an outcast and believed to be guilty of Very Bad Things and acquiring his little private army. *does more petting*
Do we get more of that female captain...Bak Gan(sp?)? I quite like her, but she hasn't had a chance to do much yet. But she seems to be being set up for noble death protecting the king. (I also like the commander of the guards-who I swear was Lady Jami's captain in Emperor of the Sea, but I'm not sure-but again, hasn't done a lot yet, and seems to be being set up for a noble death.)
I fear I am too much in my squeeful epic fantasy place to make a lot of sense.
