Cantarella Vol 10

The Love Triangle of Epic Doom took a backseat to...uhm...all sort of plotty things.  It's probably why no one tried to rape Lucrezia.  They didn't have time.  (Seriously, girl, I love you and all, but change your perfume or make your husband to teach you how to use a sword or something.)

Ok, lets see.  Cesare got married to some poor girl who's smitten with him.  Poor thing thinks he has a heart.  (Ok, he has a small one, but it stays pretty preoccupied with Chiaro and Lucrezia.)  I think Volpe cackled over Cesare leaving her.  Chiaro is now working for Catherine Sforza.  I'm glad that he has something to do now besides mope around, but I'm pretty sure Catherine Sforza is an enemy of Cesare's.  Also, her son displays more stupidity in any one scene than everyone else has in the rest of the book combined.  Oh, and Niccolo tells Chiaro a way to save Cesare without killing him.  I heard fangirls squeal, though we aren't told the way.

Meanwhile, Alfonso gets booted from Rome and the Pope goes into overprotective overdrive over Lucrezia and decides the best way to protect her is to send her off somewhere to be a diplomat and be stuck in a fortress.  Yes.  I know.  Honestly, men, GIVE THE POOR GIRL ROOM TO BREATHE!!!  No wonder she has no survical skills...you all smother her with so many protective impulses and never let her think for herself...

Alfonso also finally gets around to confessing his feelings for Sancia.  These things should be out in the open.  Less unhealthy that way.  Meanwhile, Alfonso and Lucrezia bond over incestuous feelings, Sancia and Lucrezia bond over lust for Cesare, and then over worrying about Alfonso.  Also, I think Sancia got herself deliverately kicked out of Rome so sh could go take care of Chiaro.  Incidentally, I'm not sure if time away from his two biggest obsessions is helping or hurting Cesare.

I think I forgot half the stuff that happened.

Meanwhile(and I knew this from
oyceter's post on the volume) the book went on hiatus so the mangaka could do a manga about a princess and her 3 protectors, but she's supposed to be starting Cantarella back up.  Go!Comi, I EXPECT YOU TO PUBLISH THAT ONE TOO!!!

Also, am deeply amused by the oberwhelming ambiguity in the editors note about romantic hopes.  (Look, unless they can all find a place where bisexual incestuous OT3s are OK, NO ONE IS GOING TO END UP HAPPY!!!)
