Chiaro soon learns that it's a bit difficult being on the lam with a sheltered princess. Poor little thing is completely unsuitable forthis whole "riding all night after being attacked and then staying in a rundown inn" thing. Not to mention, he forgot that it's wise to take money with you when doing such things. More people try to rape lucrezia. I swear, she must have rapist magnets or something. On the other hand, Alfonso seems to think that slumming in run down inns is fun. He also discovers Lucrezia and Chiaro and...tells Lucrecia he'll rescue Chiaro after Volpe captures him and that he'll let Lucrezia keep Chiaro after they're married.
Oooookay...
Of course, given the way he acts around Sancia and his comment to Lucrezia about being in love with someone, I guess we know why.

sadly, I sense much heartache and bad things headed for Alfonso.
Also, Volpe's jealousy deserves its own time zone. I, uhm, think it's a good thing that not even he would consider hurting Lucrezia.
Cesare continues to take the "we slept together" thing Very Very Badly. Usually, when your best friend sleeps with your precious little sister, you don't chain him in the dungeon and send your flunky who is blatantly in love with you but you don't care underling to keep torturing him so he's in constant pain but never quite dead. Then again, most guys aren't possessed by demons, in positions of great political power, and lusting after both the sister and the best friend. Seriously, I have no idea which side he's taking the "we slept together" thing worse on. (This is why the term "OT3" was created.) Also, I think his is now having sex with the demon possessing Vanozza's body. Or something.
Oh, and Sancia seems to actually be worried about Lucrezia, even if it's because Cesare told her to be. She also seems to be unable to stay away from Cesare. Sancia, sweetie, he may be amazingly gorgeous BUT HE IS KINDA EVIL AND POSSESSED BY DEMONS AND TOO BUSY OBSESSING OVER CHIARO AND LUCREZIA TO REALLY NOTICE YOU! JUST ASK VOLPE!! DO NOT TAKE THE "I don't want to kill you" TOO PERSONALLY!!!!
And...uhm...Lucrezia is pregnant? This is going to go over so amazingly badly that there are no words for it...
Did I mention Chiaro spends a lot of time chained up and tortured? Do the Borgias just like doing that to him? It's starting to be a habit with them. Also, I think he lost an arm after Alfonso rescued him. Except Alfonso still wants him for his sword arm. Because of Cesare. And I think he still plans to make him Lucrezia's sex pet or something. Actually, I find it bizarrely endering that he's all "oh, you're going to be my wife but you're sleeping with this guy. That's ok, I'll let you keep him." Maybe he figures it will distract him and everyone else from what appears to be a thing for Sancia. He should have a talk with Cesare about how well that tends to work out.
