Dear Hastings, Waldenbooks and Wal-Mart...

Apr 09, 2008 13:10

None of you had the new-ish books by Ilona Andrews or Moira J. Moore for me today.

YOU ALL FAIL!!

Hastings, you get a slight reprieve, though, for having Stardust and 3:10 to Yuma on the "2 for $15" rack of used DVDs.

Meanwhile, my brain is rejecting anything printed that isn't medieval-lite fantasy, including manga.  So far this week, it has rejected Fruits Basket, Samurai Deeper Kyo, Shaman Warrior, Dresden Files, Gals!, Togari and various comics.  Not in a "no, boring" way but in a "not now" way.  I'm thinking it might accept gaslight/steampunk(or at least, any 19th-early 20th C. inspired scifi or fantasy) too, though.  Quite annoying, actually.  I blame the work situation.  Which probably means this will last most of the month.  Maybe it'll let me get a couple backlogs shrunk down.

Also, for A-Kon people(which I think is just

telophase and
rachelmanija) right now it looks like I'll be able to go, unless the family thing the family wants to do some weekend in April or May ends up that weekend, they haven't decided what week they want to go(yes, I'm not exactly sure what the family thing is, except that the parents want all three of us and Jackson there and it involves fireworks and a Rangers game.)
