Lovers eps 8-20(the end)

Despite the fact that a giant chunk of the last episode seemed like unneccessary dragging to fill up an hour of angst(which, frankly, is the case with every modern kdrama I've seen, so I'm not holding that against it) this remained good to the end, even though I called most plot developments well in advance.  It had every element of kdramas that I ( Read more... )

"Hillbilly" Bong-soon (Eugene) saves a doctor's life (played by Ryu Jin) when he is found unconscious in the mountains near her house. What she doesn't know is that he is the President's son who has intentionally kept out of the public eye. Out of gratitude, he becomes her guardian when her grandmother passed away.

She comes to the city in search of her parents whom she had always believed were dead. She's truly a country bumpkin and several people take advantage of her ignorance. Luckily, she met Bong-ki, a body guard at the Blue House, through Joon-won (her doctor-guardian/President's son). Bong-Ki is, at first, very shallow & self-centered & they mutually drive each other crazy. She ends up staying at his family's home while she looks for a job & her real parents.

A couple old pictures is the only proof Bong-soon has of her family. To her surprise, the man in the picture is the President. Keeping the identity of her "father" mostly to herself, she sets out to get a job as a cook at the Blue House, hoping for an opportunity to meet him and learn about her past. She isn't the only one with a secret, though.
