Corin Nemec, aka Parker Lewis Can't Lose (which you might have been too young for). A couple made-for-tv movies including Stephen King's The Stand (played the loser kid in love with Molly Ringwald). I think he's kind of hot. I almost watched SG-1 because of him.

Right- they're all ascended. But only a few races have been able to accomplish ascension, right? Most of the ones you've seen are from the one race...

Yes, Jonas sticks around. He's pretty likeable but I still liked Daniel best.
