kmovie: The Art of Seduction

Feb 11, 2007 00:40

So, title aside, this is a pretty clean movie.  It's a romantic comedy about two players, Jin-Mun and Ji-Won, trying to play each other who end up falling for each other(pretty much--the ending is somewhat openended but indicates enough that I'm satisfied), and a reminded me quite a bit of  How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days(even has a scene where he cooks a delicious meal for her then she comes up with an excuse for why she can't eat it).  One thing that stood out that I liked was that they were both almost always aware of what the other was tryinbg to pull, and alternated between outdoing them and calling them on it(less of the second, though she gets him good at one point) Like 100 Days With Mr. Arrogant, it succeeds more as a comedy than as a romance, but I quite liked it.  And, on a purely shallow level, I watched it for Song Il Gook(Yum Moon in Emperor of the Sea) and it has him soaking wet for about twenty minutes and running around in the rain for a few bits of that.  Oh, and shirtless.  Yes, I'm shallow.

Min-joon is living two different lives. He is a promising architect during the daytime but at night, he is a Casanova whose technique and expertise are beyond anyone's imagination. One day, however, he comes across Ji-won who presents a real challenge to his prowess. Ji-won is a private banker. She has never lost in her work or in the game of love for the 27 years of her life.

Now she has a chance to make another notch in her roster of men who have submitted to her. Until the end of the movie, nobody can guess who's going to be the winner in this game.

In this romantic comedy, a bright, sexy, go-getter named Han Ji-wan (played by Son Ye-jin of The Classic and A Moment To Remember) has the reputation of being the best employee in the large company where she works. But her position is challenged by Seo Min-jun (Song Il-guk of Red Eye).

He is hard-working, slick, handsome and charming with a reputation of being able to twist a woman around his little finger. Sparks fly when the inevitable meeting occurs between the two.

Also appearing in this Chungeorahm film are Park Jun-gyu (Four Toes, Sex Is Zero), Hyeon Yeong (Marrying The Mafia 2), Park Yong-woo (Musa, Blood Rain) and Ahn Seon-yeong (Jenny Juno, My Little Bride).

Now, oodles of pictures, some with commentary, mostly yoinked from soompi

Jin-Mun's "library," which is manwha from a lending library hidden hidden under the covers of "real" books, and the top shelf cardboard bozes that are very well disguised.  Ji-Won investigates the second she's alone with the books, of course.

I shall now ogle Song Il Gook in glasses.

His father is just as bad as he is, and makes him cosplay to get out of relationships he's  tired of.  In this case, a doctor declaring he'll die in a month.

Ji-Won has spotted her prey.

Ji-Won gets out of everything with her cutesy act(until Jin-Mun, that is,w ho plays mean, then nice.  But she clings to the cutesy.)

Ji-Won imagines their confrontations like they're medieval swordsmen(well, swordman and swordwoman)    The scene was awesome and it was rewatched a few times.

When it comes to free tickets to Europe, Ji-Won has no shame...including entering a sexy dance contest.

And is caught after and fakes being sick because she's been hiding from him since she invited him to a couples lingerie party and it ended up being a slave date auction where she turned him over to ravening hordes...he went for 10 million won..

Note one is dry and one is soaking wet...the boy worked to get her her wine.

Was there OTO running in the rain with only a coat to shield them?  Why yes, yes there was.

Was there giving up your coat because sharing wasn't keeping your OTP dry enough?  Why yes, yes there was(it reminded me of the scene in ISWAK, because she kept moving without thinking and he had to work to keep her covered)

He was rewarded well for being a good OTP.

Ending with some nice promo pic things.
