Dear Author,
Thank you so much for offering for one of my fandoms! That we were matched means you have at least some interest in some combination of shounen-like Chinese historical fantasy, masked lady demon hunters, gothic horror about women and their relationships with haunted houses, lady paranormal investigators, and haunted turn-of-the-century houses. If you have a lot of love for all of the above, we really need to talk.

Lotus Lantern For Ding Xiang and Xiao Yu, while I liked both characters a lot, I didn't care for how the series mostly had them at odds over Chen Xiang, and so I loved the bit while Chen Xiang was off training and Xiao Yu became the masked demon hunter and Ding Xiang became her apprentice without knowing her shifu was Xiao Yu, and I'd like more of their adventures then. I also really like the friendship between San Sheng Mu and Chang'er, and how Er Lang Shen fits in and is a bit of a Damsel In Distress in their eyes, and wish it had been more developed, especially pre-series.
Rose Red What I like the most about Rose Red is how it's basically the extreme of the idea that the gothic horror genre is the love story between a woman and a house, and how we see it reflected with Ellen and Joyce, with Rose Red obsessed with Ellen and doing anything to keep her, and Joyce obsessed with Rose Red and doing anything to wake it up. One of my favorite scenes in the series is when Joyce is distracted with her research and Steve first asks if she's sleeping with him to get access to his house (if she'd been paying attention, she probably would have said "no, I'm sleeping with you because it's the closest I can get to sleeping WITH your house") and then she's asks why he hates the house and her quite reasonably replies "It eats my family!" and she just gives him that "silly boy, that's part of the charm!" look. What i want most is something that explores Joyce and Ellen's connections to the house, or something about Joyce during the course of her obsession with Rose Red. it'd be great if elements from The Secret Diary of Ellen Rimbauer could be worked in, since that's where we see most of Ellen'sd relationship with Rose Red, and why Rose Red took many of it's earlier victims, but it's ok if only Rose Red is used. There's also the question of if Rose Red will actually LET itself be destroyed, and what steps it'd take to prevent that.
The Awakening What I'd like here is just some of Florence's adventures as a paranormal investigator, either before or after the movie. (I know the ending is vague as to whether or not she survived, but I choose to interpret it as she lived.) If it's after the movie, Robert is optional-while I liked that this was a gothic horror movie with a centeal romance that actually worked, it's notr a crucial part of my enjoyment and it's not like they're together fulltime anyway-and i think it'd be interesting to see her continue her work knowing that the supernatural does exist, and trying to determine on a case-by-case basis if the paranormal actually is involved. It'd be nice if it involved another woman, either as a friend or an antagonist (or as both) or developed her relationship with her adopted mother, and Florence dealing with the fact that her parents lied to her about her background, even if it was to protect her.
