These episodes are more like what I was expecting when the series started (not that I have any ocmplaints at all about what the first few episodes turned out to be.) A fair dose of action, humor and romance, but mostly spooky creepy gothic mystery, in line with the Liao Zhai series from a few years ago (one of which I actually haven't seen yet), ( Read more... )

Well, when she died she "kept" everything that she had on her at the time, but it wasn't the actual item, but...the memory of it? The spirit world version of it, like she explained when he wanted to know why she didn't have it before. Or whatever. Eun Ho could touch it because of whatever it is that lets him see and touch ghosts, but it wasn't the ACTUAL hairpin, and then when Arang became human again the spiritworld version disappeared. (I'm more concerned with how she managed to change out of the clothes she died in and into the ones the shaman made for her, but I guess they were made into some kind of offering?)

I don't think they would have brought up Moo Young's sister so deliberately if they didn't intend for her to be important to the plot somehow. initially I thought that either Arang was her reincarnation or that he was a "new" Grim Reaper and one of their mother's was his sister, but he's been a Grim Reaper for at least as long as Eun Ho's mother/the demon possessing her has been eating young girls. Now I'm thinking that he became a Grim Reaper to look for her ghost but never found her. But he certainly didn't seem overly eager to catch her he was hunting her.
