Even though I don't really have the money, I upgraded my phone today to an android. The battery on my old phone was only lasting about 6-10 hours lately, and all the free ones I could have traded it in for were basically the same thing I already had, which is servicable, but not a lot else. Basically, it had to be done soon and it was better to get it over with than risk suddenly being phoneless with a flat tire/dead battery/needing medical attention/someone needing to reach me/etc. (There's actually a rebate for the bulk of it, but it's coming in my father's name since our whole family shares and account, and the rebate will cover the activation fee and last month's bill, which he's kind of avoided letting me pay for because of recent financial and health things.)

Anyway, the first thing I did was send a test text to my parents to make sure I had navigation and using the text screen down. The next thing I did was install Kindle.

I suspect this is very telling.

(Then I went and redid my wallpaper and contact icons since they were able to transfer my pictures.)

ETA: Also, they taunted me with it being available in purple and showed me another phone with the same shade and it was nice, and then they were ALL OUT and I ended up with black anyway. Not that there's anything wrong with black, but still...)
