Vampire Diaries 2.17
Show, you're doing that thing again where you put things that should be saved for the episode before the seaso finale in a random episode. Not that I'm complaining.
-Liz knows about Caroline being a vanmpire again! I hope it sticks this time, and that we actually see them dealing with it.
-I'd have a lot more sympathy for Matt if he didn't express his grief and confusion by manhandling women.
-Is it now canon that all witches officially hate Damon? Regardless, I'm going with that. (Also, wow, aside from my general hatred for the character, I don't think he did anything to make me ragey for the first time in a long time!)
-I think Bonnie reached new levels of epic this episode. Too bad they're marring that with her planning to sacrifice herself to kill Klaus.
-For a while there, I was going to be praising the show for having every woman still living except for Jules and Lucy in one episode AND THEN THEY WENT AND KILLED ISABEL. SIGH. (But show, she only just came back! Also, much as I love separated families finding each other, the fact that you killed Elena's biological mother to help bring in the Big Bad and have her bond with her biological father just reinforces that whole thing where mothers aren't allowed to have roles in their children's stories.)
-They can kill Alaric, though. I realized this episode that I really do actually like John more than him now I have no idea how that happened. Oh, wait, it was when John started being the only one who seems genuinely concerned about what I consider to be Jenna's best interests, and he's totally fine following the lead of various women, and Alaric started being OK with Damon raping and abusing women. And basically became Damon's pet.
-You are Forbidden to kill Bonnie or Katherine, show. (Or Elena, Caroline or Liz, but I think they're safe.)
-Also, Katherine's girlfriends keep betraying her! Not that I blame Lucy. And i'm kind of curious exactly what Isabel would have been up to if Klaus hadn't been compelling her all along, as she was obviously playing both "teams."
-I wonder if Klaus's witch is also descended from one of the Salem witches? (My theory is that the Bennetts, the Martins and Bree are all descended from the same witch, with Bree also being one of Emily's descendants, but the Martins from another family tree.)
ETA: Oh, and do we think Stefan's being compelled by Klaus at the end there, too? There's definitely something not righht with him. Show, you can't kill Stefan, either. Not only is he the only guy on the show who I actually like with any consistency (Since I no longer like Alaric, and while I'm somewhat invested in Tyler and his plot, I don't actually like him, and Jeremy...does not annoy me the way he did in season one, but I more...don't mind him.) but then nothing will save us from Damon/Elena, and I'll probably have to stop watching you if that happens.
