new tech + world book day meme

After hemming and hawing and fidgetting over whether or not to actually use the money from my tax refund to get a netbook to still get a netbook, I saw Acer Aspires on sale at Wal-Mart for $198 yesterday and caved in. It needs a name. Uhm...everything else is named for Princess Tutu characters (Ahiru-MP3 player, Kraehe-laptop, Fakir-99.9% retired ancient PC, Mytho-router, Uzuru and Miss Edel-external hard drives, Remains of Rue-the hard drive from my last laptop, which tragically Died last year) but things like Oracle or Hardison (aka, tech geek characters) are also eligible.

And the meme:

The book I am reading:

Lord of the Night by Susan Wiggs and xxx/Holic Vol 14 by Clamp.

The book I am writing:

...

*hides in shame*

I seriously need to write something...

The book I love most:

Would anyone answer the same way twice, 5 months apart? Which is to say, I refuse to choose.

The last book I received as a gift:

A Lost Lady by Willa Cather and Women Who Run With the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes. (Which I haven't read yet.)

The last book I gave as a gift:

The first 2 Old School Nancy Drew books, and a couple of Christopher Pike books. (To the same person I got the above from.)

The nearest book on my desk:

Heh. I'm at the WiFi cafe in a bookstore/videostore/gamestore...

I think Marie Brennan's A Star Shall Fall is on my desk at home to be written up, and that's probably where the xxxHolic book is. Andthen the Wiggs book is in my purse, as I've been reading it during breaks at work.

The last book I bought for myself:

Balefire by Cate Tiernan (impulse buy at Wal-Mart) and Poems and Selected Letters (The Other Voice in Early Modern Europe) by Veronica Franco, though that was ordered from Amazon when I was getting this for my netbook last night.  (My love for the retro image won out over the practical desire for pockets and a strap.)
