Well the Mansfield Park and Mummies is written by twice-Nebula nominated Vera Nazarian, so I expect it's got oomph. It's on my TBR pile *sigh* ... she's also the publisher of Norilana books. Did you see the James Fairfax book also spun off from Jane Austen?

Even without character familiarity, you still have the fact that it turns a woman into a man and names a book based on a work about and named for a woman, and names it after the newly-made man.
