You know, if more boys’ adventure stories were about Victorians in space with bossy, propriety-obsessed sisters in love with space pirates turned spies, I might read more of them. But scifi-for-kids supposedly doesn’t sell. Just like Asian fantasy and adventures starring teenaged girls, because only boys read adventure stories, and boys won’t read ( Read more... )

Would that make Myrtle a prissy tsundere?

Jack: *fluster* Myrtle! I think-I'm-pretty-sure-maybe-I...love you?
Myrtle: Oh Jack! Let me drag you out of sight so Art won't make weird faces while we make out!
Jack: *stammer* But we can never be together for reasons I cannot properly articulate! But they are good reasons!
Myrtle: I cannot punch you in the face because your nose is pretty-I mean, due to my strict manners and moral upbringing, and so I shall flounce off and write a ten page diary entry about what a lout you are!
Jack: I must now go angst cutely in space over my lost love!

The babies will be the most adorably prissy space pirates ever.

Myrtle's totally a prissy megane tsundere. If it was an anime light would constantly be gleaming off her glasses as she adjusted them. 8D

I found aspects of Mothstorm questionable but nevertheless Jack/Myrtle will be painfully adorable FOREVER AND EVER.

I need to get Mothstorm!

If this was an anime, Myrtle would also be pointing constantly! And Jack's entrances would always be slo-mo and accompanied by someone gasping.

oh man, I love this series so much. ♥ the first book had me at "Victorians in space" and the next two didn't let me down either.

Yeah, the concept is going to be the dealmaker/breaker in most cases, with the actual book determining degrees.
