Re-reading old journal entries is like stepping back into the past. I can't believe how... young I was once. It seems like years and years ago but it's been less than 5.
I suppose I've just grown. College does that to you I suppose.
Some of the things I commented on, some of the things I said... wow. It's not like my general ideals and morals have changed just -- it's weird thinking that I one point in my life I hated one place and now I can't picture myself living anywhere besides that single place.
I still can't seem to pull up the motivation to write anything fandom related as my mind is filled with original fiction stories that no matter how fast I type never seem to leave my head. Hm. Maybe it'll come back one day but for now...
Had a birthday. T'was a good day. Am now 21. Spent most of the day at the DMV, then went to lunch with a friend, then had cake at home. Very quiet.. Haven't done anything crazy. Haven't really done anything at all. We're all too broke to celebrate although I still don't know where we'd be celebrating if we were. Stupid Omo.
Currently into my 6th semester at CSUSM. Three more to go but that includes summer school (ew). However, Fall 2010 I’m spending doing a Semester at Sea where you hop on a boat with 700+ other students and like 50+ teachers and staff members and sail around the world. Going to: Canada, Spain, Morocco, Ghana, South Africa, Mauritius, India, Singapore, Viet Nam, China, Japan and Hawaii all in 109 days. I’m also going to try to get to the Taj Mahal and the Great Wall and Tokyo Tower and thousands of other places; I’m so stoked. I’ll have to take down addresses so that I can send postcards from places. After I get back from that trip in December I’ll have one more semester to go before I get my BA in History. Then, teaching credentials which take a year.
Our trip to London and Paris was… there are no words. I loved it there. England is beautiful and London was completely charming. I could picture myself living there full time I loved it that much. The city is filled with so much character and beauty that I think I could spend days just wandering around, taking pictures, becoming one with the city. I could probably go back tomorrow and see things I never saw. Next time I go to England though I’m going to make it a point to head to Northern Ireland, Ireland and Wales. They are all so close together after all.
Paris on the other hand is a place I'd go back to but maybe not anytime soon. I mean, it's Paris and it's lovely but I spent a week getting used to breathing clean air again because everyone there smokes. Yuck. I did adore the Tower Eiffel and the view from the top: there’s nothing like it. I think if I ever go back to Paris I’d try to make it back there in spring, or early fall before it gets too cold.
Oh, I so wish that the States would implement a public transportation system like most of Europe seems to have. It’s just so simple, so easy to use and so worth every penny.
On the cheer front the season finally ended. We went to Vegas for JAMZ Nationals and competed in two different events. Took home 5th out of 10th in one and 9th out of 14th in another. Not the ideal way to end but *shrug*.
However, while in Vegas, at the Competition, I fell down about five steps and landed hard on my right ankle, spraining it. I ended up with a torn ligament under my ankle bone and am currently attending Physical Therapy to rectify the situation.
Saw Avatar, loved it. <3 Now I want to see Alice in Wonderland.
That’s it, I think.
