Here is my entry for selenic76's February Fandom FestFandom is very important to me. Thanks to my fandoms I met all of you, amazing people, I have a chance to share my love for things I like, read about things I love and write about things that interest me. Fandom inspires me to read more, to write, to create, and it's a really amazing feeling

Oh, yes, I'm so obsessed with MCU, the Trekverse and the Arrowverse, good choices. *nods*
Indeed, seeing all the creative fanworks fan can come up with is the best way of being in a fandom. *g*
(And I wish I could get into Dragon Age, it seems pretty interesting, but, alas, I'm really no gamer...)

I'm glad we share fandoms ;) All of them are so creative and so active! It's awesome.

Dragon Age is honestly my favourite fandom right now. I don'r only play a lot, but it's the fandom for which I wrote so many fics already - it's very inspiring (and I keep recommending it to everyone, even to people who are not gamers *lol*). It's very engaging and all the characters and storylines are very interesting :)

Oh, yes, Dragon Age has me very curious but since I don't play I really know nothing about it, not even the main characters/storylines etc.
In the past I enjoyed fanworks about fandoms I didn't know but to do so I need at least some kind of intro post/primer... ;(

When it comes to info, checking out the wiki page of Dragon Age (pages of all the 3 parts separately) is a good first step. Once you read about the main plotlines you can find more detailed articles at wiki devoted only to Dragon Age. It's one huge story and you keep finding out new things about it all the time :) It's one of the reasons why I love it so much.

I can spend hours on reading wiki articles only XD

I think what I find most difficult with gaming fandom is this freedom of choosing you character's gender and stuff, it just makes it more confusing to me from the outside... :D
There's this terrific Mass Effect podfic I listened to that is so AU even I understood what was going on and it made me curious for more Mass Effect stuff but the worldbuilding looked *so* complicated. Let alone the whole confusing famale/male protagonist.
And now I see all this Dragon Age podfic being created (yes, I'm addicted to podfic LOL) and I was getting kind of bummed I wouldn't get to enjoy it...
By any chance, do you happen to have any recs laying around? Stuff I could start with that don't require a huge amount of canon knowledge from me? *g*

I shall start by giving you a vid rec. It's a vid from the game, a scene about one of my favourite pairings (male!Trevelyan/Iron Bull) - it shows the humour in the game and one of the romance options: *HERE*

Now, to the rest :)

I do have recs for fics. So many of them, actually. If you don't mind me self-promoting, I write fics that are mainly spoiler-free. I'll link you to a few of them and give you links to the characters pages so you can see and read something about the characters I focus on :)

1. Skyhold Café - it's a coffee shop AU and includes one my favourite pairings from the third part of the game: male!Trevelyan/Iron Bull and a few other characters (canon free XD).

2. Axe vs Arrow - friendship/action piece about Krem and Sera, two of my favourite characters, who are absolutely badass.

3. A Toast to Us - female!Trevelyan/Josephine, a fic that focuses on their romance.

4. The Most Awesome Arcanist - Sera/Dagna, get-together fic, inspired by a prompt that made me ship it.
