I think it's been my experience that they really don't try to fuck with your mind, usually; it's just a consequence of subsequent slighting interactions with them that they're completely oblivious to. Maybe you should try expressing your concern and frustration to him in as emotionally mature and articualte way as possible... we'll see how effective this adult stuff really is... LOL!! Kidding.
