Part 4 Part 5 Part 6
Part 7 Part 8 Part 9
Part 10 Part 11 Part 12

He hadn’t really expected anything less from the media, and looking over that mornings newspapers informed Megamind that the front page headlines would be carrying stories from the events that took place last week for a long, long time. ‘New footage’ was being found every other day from security cameras, experts interviewed, arguments over the damage done to the city and just what kind of money would be needed to fix what Hal had done to it... it was the same song again, and again.

Setting his newspaper down on the table he supported his chin in his hand and stared at the clock on the wall. He was still in the City Hall, mostly since nobody had asked him to leave yet. He had helped save the day, after all... in some peoples eyes he had been the hero, despite Metro Woman showing up. Of course there was news all on that, too. Was she back? Was it a last fleeting bit of power she had left, to time travel ahead, to help save the day? Was it an imposter?

“I’ve got to help her out of this.” he said, to no one in particular. “She came back, even though she didn’t want to...” Megamind looked over the photo once more, the destroyed Metro Tower barely touching the fountain that had managed to stay in one piece. Seeing the tower made him shudder, remembering just how painful that day had been physically and emotionally.

He sighed and turned in his seat, but actually reached for one of the triangles of smileyface, crustless toast that Minion had made him for breakfast.

Having an appetite again was a new and refreshing thing for him, since the past few days he had been against eating anything that Minion, or in that one wonderful occasion, Wendeline, would feed him. But one got sick of soup after it being the only thing one ate for almost an entire week. Chewing on the toast slowly, Megamind got to his feet and walked across to the window and stared out at the city.

From here he could still see the Metro Tower on its side, and the sight was as startling now as it ever was. How did I even survive that?

“Good morning again, Sir!” Minion walked into the kitchen, carrying a fluffy feathery pink duster in one hand.

“Hmff?” Megamind turned his head, mouth full of toast. He swallowed. “Minion.” he said, before stopping and falling silent as he went back to thinking. He thoughtfully took another bite of toast.

“It’s so good to see you eat, Sir!”

“Almost worth a photo, isn’t it?” he asked with a slight smirk before wiping his lips with the back of his hand.

“Yes, yes it is.” Minion actually had several photos of his Master eating, dating from various birthdays and other celebrations. Other photos recorded various events from Megaminds childhood, including photos of him working on his inventions, training the Brain Bots and even playing his bright blue guitar. Minion kept them in a journal hidden deep away in his own quarters, and would open it when he needed cheering up. He was tempted to take a few snaps of Megamind eating the toast.

“I’ve been thinking...” Megamind said, mouth clear of crumbs, “About Wendeline.”

What else is new? Minion thought to himself. “Oh yes?”

“I heard that.”

“Heard... You heard what, Sir?”

Megamind just gave his fish a look, before continuing. “Well. She came to... well. Save my neck. Though she didn’t have to.” he said as he walked back to the table, picking up another piece of toast as he looked at the newspapers front page. “And now the media are all over her again. If it wasn’t for her lair she’d get no peace again. I have to... well. You know. Help her.”

“I agree she could probably do with some help, sir, but I don’t think she’d appreciate you bombing the newspapers...” Minion worried.

“Minion please, that was the old me. This is the new me. No bombing buildings anymore. I think this city’s had enough of that lately.” he cast a nervous glance out the window again before looking back at Minion. “And I believe I’ve thought of the solution.” taking a dramatic bite of his toast he grinned triumphantly, before pointing to one of the photographs of the woman in question. “I’m going to build her.”

Minion stared in horror at the photograph. “No. Sir, that didn’t work out too well last time.”

Megamind laughed, and waved a hand. “No, no no no! Not like that! It won’t even work properly!” he walked up to the fish and pressed a hand to his chest. “A robot, Minion!”

“A robot?” Minion tried to keep up with the conversation. “I... know you were lonely... but...”

“A robot.” Megamind nodded his head. “See, I’ll --what?! No! Not like that! I don’t need a robot for that.” he looked somewhat insulted, but laughed and play punched the fish’s chin despite the thick glass separating them. “Oh you.”

Minion grinned. “But really, Sir, we’ve tried humanoid robots before. They weren’t the best. There was that problem with the legs... and then the one that put its arm through the wall...” That had been difficult to clean up after, as well.

“I know. I remember. Humanoid robots are too hard to work with.” Megamind agreed. “But this one doesn’t have to work. I’ll create it, tell the Media that what they saw that day was the robot! Not Metro Woman returning triumphantly from the dead with blue hair, but a creation of science! Don’t you see? I can even... even use that blue hair of hers as an example!” he grabbed the newspaper off the table and held it up, looking at the photograph of her. “Why would the real Metro Woman ever cut and dye her hair blue? Simple answer for simple minds, she wouldn’t! It was nothing but a robot.”

“I see Sir.” Minion honestly wondered whether this would be enough. He had subscriptions to several different magazines, and he felt he knew their take on things better than Megamind did. It seemed likely that they would be less than trustful of the “robot” explanation.

“Then they’ll leave her alone! She can become Wendeline Scott all over again, drop the Metro Woman persona and be her own person!” Megamind was oblivious to his friends concerns, still staring at the photograph of her. He smiled warmly, and ran his finger over the image.

“I hope that will work, Sir. You might want to tell her before you start on this plan.”

Megamind stopped the caressing of said photograph and blinked, before looking up at the fish. “You think so?”

“I think she needs to know that she shouldn’t worry, and why. It’s only fair, Sir.”

“Mhm.” Megamind looked down at the newspaper and nodded. He hadn’t seen her since that day she came to visit him, and he so wanted to see her again. Reaching a decision, Megamind gave a firm nod. “I do believe you’re right Minion.”

Minion gave a sigh of relief, and picked up the empty plate. “Is there anything else I can get you, Sir?”

“A pair of leather pants! And then I’m out. Make sure they’re good pants. I don’t want to look a mess.” Megamind glanced down at his pyjama bottoms that he was still wearing from the night previous.

“Can do.” Minion swept about the room, picking up three leftover cups and another plate, depositing them in the sink, then walked out.

Megamind stood there in the kitchen alone a moment before picking up the newspaper again and smiled fondly at the blurry photograph of Wendeline. He had almost forgotten what that outfit she used to wear had looked like on her. It was skin tight, showed just enough skin to be exciting, yet also reminded you that she could kick your ass around the planet if she wanted to. “Don’t you worry,” he said to the picture, “I’ll fix everything.”

~*~*~

Wendeline carefully opened the square paper packet, and caught the springlike guitar string. It struggled to be free, and she eventually managed to harness the sharp loop at one end into the correct point in her guitar.

It was considered appropriate to replace all the strings on a guitar at once, but with her super strength, she went through a lot of guitar strings. She found, these days, that it was easier just to add another string when necessary, instead of replacing the lot. Cheaper, too, although she didn’t really need to worry as much about the money aspect.

Replacing one of the finer steel strings was a work of patience. Slide it up the neck of the guitar, make sure it fits into each slot in the bridge, carefully feed it through, and wind it on. She liked her strings to be neatly attached. Especially as this meant that they were easily tuned. Finally she was able to tune the string. It would take a week to stretch and need constant retuning, but it was already a good string. She plucked it thoughtfully, enjoying the sound.

In the distance she could hear a chime, and some staff member walking through to answer the door. It wasn’t long until the servant was knocking on the door to her room.

“Yes?”

She opened the door only just to look in on her. “Ah, a Mister Mind is here to see you Miss Scott. Shall I show him in?” the young woman clearly wasn’t all too certain as to what to do given the last time Megamind had showed up at the manor. It was good thing Carlos had left when he did, other wise Megamind would never have gotten this far onto the property at all.

Wendeline quickly put the guitar aside. “Yes, yes, show him in. He can come up here.” The servant seemed slightly surprised at this, as very few people were ever invited into Wendelines private music room. She darted out of the doorway. Her footsteps could be heard moving into the distance before being being replaced with rapid footsteps that could only belong to one person. The door was pushed open and there stood Megamind in his usual outfit consisting of leather, boots, arm high gloves, high collar and cape.

“Knock knock!” he greeted, holding under one arm a rolled up blue print. He glanced around, smiling faintly. “Oh good, they fixed the hole...!”

“Yeah, it took them a while.” She looked wryly at the patch of carpet hiding the repair. “Thankfully I didn’t go through anything structural.”

He nodded before glancing at her and smiled fondly, though somewhat nervously. They hadn’t really been alone like this in a while, nor had he ever stepped foot in her house like this. “So...” he started weakly, before taking a few steps into the room, strumming his fingers nervously on the blueprints. “How are you?”

“I’m doing okay. I’ve mostly been able to avoid the reporters.... I’m just laying low, really.”

Megamind made ‘hmm’ noise from the back of his throat before remembering why he had come here. “Oh!” he said, excitedly, as he suddenly hurried forward. “I need your measurements!” Megamind said as he unrolled the blue paper and placed it on a near by table before tugging out Minion’s faithful yellow measuring tape and stuck a white pencil behind one of his ears.

“You what?”

“Your measurements!” he repeated, and held out the yellow tape, smiling at her. “I need them!”

“Are you... I don’t.... Why!?” she spluttered, confused.

“It’s going to be amazing! It’ll fix everything!” Megamind explained, somewhat, as he walked up to her but didn’t begin measuring anything just yet, though it was obvious he wanted to by the way he was somewhat bouncing on his heels in excitement. “You won’t have to worry about the Media ever again!”

“Are you sure you’re you, and not a very enthusiastic face painted tabloid reporter?” She peered into his eyes jokingly. “Because.... That’s the worst pickup line I think I’ve ever heard.”

He smirked back playfully. “Well if you’re that concerned, ask me something only I would know about you.”

“Huh.” She thought about this for a moment. “Okay. Whose fault was that elephant? Really?”

“Ohhhh, ho ho ho ho ho!” he laughed, waving a finger in her face. “You, my dear, are... oohh you’re something.” Megamind sighed as he rolled the measuring tape around his left knuckle. “Honestly, ask not to mention the elephant again and what does she do...”

She smirked back at him cheerily.

He threw his hands up in a surrendering kind of way. “Okay. I admit it. It was my fault. I got over excited. Like normal.”

“I’m still of the opinion that Minion really caused all of that. Those wheels.... and the red umbrella with the.... Ah well.” She chuckled, then eyed the tape measure. “So... why are you going to measure me? Are you planning on making me a suit of invisible clothing or something?”

“....that is an excellent idea.” Megamind said after a long pause. “Note to self. Investigate invisible clothing manufacturing. Anyway, no, no. Nothing like that. Not now, any way.” he walked closer to her, tone softening slightly. “I want to help you. Everyone thinks Metro Woman’s returned and I know you don’t want to be her anymore. So I’ve found a way so that the Media will think that what they saw last week wasn’t you at all. That Metro Woman is dead, and gone.”

She narrowed her eyes. “Somehow it seems even more creepy that you’re measuring me for a coffin.”

“What? No! Not a coffin! My god! No. Behold!” he hurried to the blue prints and held them up. They were still life drawings of Metro Woman, with clothing thank you very much, in basic front and side on poses. While the outer lines were thick, they had thin lines working beneath them showing intricate workings of machines, coils, cogs and other related doo-dads which would have left a normal person confused. All that it was missing were the measurements of her body. “I’m going to design a replica robot of you, and claim that what everyone saw that day was this. Not you. Don’t worry, it won’t actually do anything. I’ll feed them some story about the power core being destroyed and being unable to fix it...” he looked at the drawings, smiling proudly at his handiwork. “But it needs to look as though it once worked.”

“I... see.” She stared at the drawings. They seemed perfectly in scale already, without the use of measurements. Perhaps this was just an excuse? Without turning her head, she looked at him out of the corner of her eye. He was so enthusiastic! Was he always like this? “Well, I guess you can measure me up then.” She straightened up.

He stared at her blankly for a moment in shock. “...really?” Megamind asked.

“Did you expect me to say no?”

“I kind of did.” he admitted honestly. But he smiled widely, the enthusing returning like the tide. “Awesome! Now, I’ve had this done to me enough times to know the necessities but seeing how I’m building a robot I’ll be needing a bit more than just that.” Megamind said as he unhooked his cape and gently placed it over the back of a chair. He unrolled the measuring tape for the second time this evening and got down on his knees in front of her and began measuring her ankle, of all things to start with.

She gazed down at him, smiling. As he fussed around her foot, she slowly started hovering, playfully, until she was a few feet above the floor.

Megamind had tried to keep a hold of her foot and, naturally, he was no match for her physical strength at all. Then he realized what she was doing, made an ‘oh’ sound, before mumbling a thank you and began taking measurements again. Everything had to be perfect, since he was somewhat of a perfectionist when it came to robots and all things like that. Yes, even those that would never truly work. It had to look like her down to the tiniest freckle.

He moved his way up from her feet to her legs, getting calf and thigh measurements as well with the expected leg length. “Wow. You are tall...” he mumbled to himself as he jotted down the numbers before he slowly, probably on purpose, took the measurement of her hips. His fingers traced the shape of them momentarily as he worked he measuring tape there, before looking at the numbers and nodded to himself. Well, he seemed to be being very professional about this...

“So... I thought you had my measurements on record after that incident with the cement mix?” she asked, as he madly scribbled calculations in a margin.

“That power outage when I was back home a few years ago. I lost a lot of data.”

“Ah, right.” She eyed him again as he pulled out the measure, “so exactly how accurate does this have to be?”

“To be believable?” he asked, glancing up at her as he began measuring the length of her arms. “Accurate in every way.”

“Every way?” She sat there trying to work out if he was saying what she thought he was saying.

“Every way.” Megamind echoed her, as he wrote down more measurements onto the blue paper and seemed oblivious to what she was referring to. He just had to get a few more measurements and he was done, though he didn’t really want to leave right after finishing just yet.

“So how much does this replica of me weigh?” She chattered away.

“I don’t know yet I haven’t made it. But seeing how it’ll be full of gears and what not probably a little over what you weigh.” he replied, glancing up at her. “Why?”

“So it will look like me, and weigh like me...” She was eyeing him in an odd way. “Exactly how accurate is Every. Way.?”

He stared at her for a long moment. Finally it appeared as though he understood her since his face suddenly went from blue to purple at warp speed. “O-oh! Uh. Ah.” he dropped the pencil entirely and got down to grab it quickly before standing up again. “N-no! Not like-- not like that! I don’t. I’m not. I never... oh god. Really? You think I’d...?”

She snorted, then actually broke into laughter. “No... I think... I think people are going to be asking you how long you’ve owned this robot though.” She stepped back, giggling, one hand over her eyes. “Oh man. The tabloids are going to love this one.” She stopped laughing.

“Why hadn’t I thought of the ramifications and the implications of this? Oh my God. Oh my God...” he pressed a hand to his forehead and shut his eyes tightly. “They’ll... oh...” Megamind groaned and lowered his arms both to his sides and sighed heavily. “Well. This... this is to help you so... I guess I can deal with that... they’ve been talking bad about me since I was a kid after all.... what’s a little more?”

“Brave boy.” She had a huge smirk on her face.

He gave her a faint smile before picking up the measure tape that he had dropped in the heat of his embarrassment. “Ah. Could you lift your arms?”

She lifted an arm, and, a few minutes later, the other arm. He took remarkably careful measurements of each of her fingers. Once that was done he stood there awkwardly before he moved closer to her and worked both of his arms around her only briefly before stepping back and measured her chest size. His face became deep purple once more, and he stared at his hands and most definitely at nothing else.

“So. Uh. Are you going to l-leave your hair blue or... or dye it something else...?” he asked.

“I’ve had a mixed set of reactions. I think I started some sort of fad in the fashion industry, though, so in theory I could just say I was following the crowd.” She touched a lock of hair thoughtfully. “Do you like it?”

“I love your hair no matter what you do to it.” he said, probably a little too easier than he had meant to. Smiling faintly he pulled the tape measure away from her, and made more notes to the paper. “It suits you long, short, brown, blue... I think you’d suit anything.”

“That.” She reached out and touched the tip of his chin, raising his head to look him in the eye. “That was definitely the right thing to say,” and then she was just naturally leaning in for a kiss.

This time they didn’t have anything to interrupt them. No Minion in the next room, no Roxanne wandering in without a clue. They could take their time with this kiss.

Megamind hadn’t expected this kind of response, but it wasn’t something he was going to argue over. He too knew they could take their time now, something they hadn’t shared together since before the whole messy business of him being arrested and her ‘date’ with Mr. Darcy.

He gave her a soft smile and met her half way, shutting his eyes as he kissed her softly. Like the short, breathless one they had shared in the bedroom back at city hall, the kiss sent sparks through his body. His heart was already racing, and he was sure his face was purple once more.

He tasted distinctly of peppermints again, and his lips were warm, not cold as the blue would imply. He was absolutely and utterly exactly what she wanted, right then and there, and she felt like he breathed life right through her. Somehow she had her arms around him, and he had his arms around her. Both of them ignored the faint sound of various things they had dropped falling to the floor.

She didn’t notice that her feet had left the ground, but Megamind whimpered for a moment as they floated up and he lost contact with the ground, then he had somehow wrapped his legs around hers, and it didn’t matter any more.

Megamind had missed this, the feeling of her strong arms pressing in against his thin frame, and the warmth of her body combined with the tenderness of the kiss being shared engulfed all of his senses, like a brush fire. Whilst his hands did miss the long brown hair to tangle his fingers in it only meant moving one hand further up in order to push his hand through her cropped hair.

A small part of his brain that still functioned wondered just how she had cut it.

He had been meaning to talk to her about this, about them. While the kiss in the city hall had been wonderful, it hadn’t really answered any questions either. Had she still felt anything for him, or had it just been a spur of the moment thing? Seeing the situation he had found himself in now, however, seemed to answer that question.

It was his turn to be somewhat bold, now. He opened his mouth beneath her own, and his tongue pressed itself against her lips as the hand that wasn’t currently lost in her blue hair moved itself from the middle of her back to the lower half, gripping at what he found there.

She squeaked, opening her mouth and letting him in, smiling through the kiss. He honestly did seem to want to kiss her, this wasn’t some insane joke. It seemed incredible, impossible believe that it was true. She wondered suspiciously whether she was a character in a fairytale.

His hand gripped closer against her body, and even though their skin was separated by layers of clothing, and gloves, it felt amazing to be touching her this way. She hadn’t pushed him off, broken his hand, or anything like he had been fearing she’d do.

But the kiss was suddenly halting, as Megamind pulled his mouth away from her. Eyes open he stared at her, a look of uncertainty clearly there. “A... am I your boyfriend?” he asked, voice coming out incredibly small and nervous, as if the years had peeled back and he was that little boy in the orange jumpsuit who used to accidentally set things on fire in class.

She blinked at him carefully for a moment. “Do you think I kiss everyone this way?”

“N-no I just...” Megamind replied shakily, moving the hand from her hair to her shoulder. “I just. I’ve never had a... well. Girlfriend and I just wanted to know you wanted me like that but even if you didn’t I don’t think I’d mind it’s just--” he stopped himself, pressing his lips together firmly as his face remained a healthy purple one would expect to find on grapes.

He sighed and shut his eyes. “I’m sorry. I ruined it didn’t I?”

“You babble too much.” She kissed him gently on the forehead. “I guess I should stop you, but it’s so adorable.” She hoisted him up by the shoulders, and looked him right in the eye.

“Don’t tell a guy he’s adorable...” he mumbled at her, but he was smiling now, at least.

“Tough. Deal with it. And yes. You’re my boyfriend.”

Next thing she knew she had his skinny arms wrapped around her neck and his mouth once more pressing down against her own, the ex-super villain making a very pleased sound from the back of his throat as he did.

Seemed that was what he had wanted to hear.

He hung onto her with his arms around her neck and his legs around her waist, and it seemed perfectly natural to place her hand well below his waist and pull him in even closer. This time she opened his mouth, and he moaned into the kiss as she explored his perfect teeth, before delving deeper.

With her other hand she felt along his back, trying to work out how to access more skin. The leather seemed to be a single piece, which was irritating, but soon her sensitive fingers found an almost invisible seam along his spine. He seemed to shudder in reaction to her searching hand, his own gripping tightly against her back. She followed the seam up to the back of his neck, and struggled with a tiny tag. It came off in her hand, and she pulled away from the kiss in confusion.

He had felt the tug of the material and had definitely heard a snapping noise. Megamind opened his eyes and turned his head, trying to look down his own back. Of course he couldn’t. “...did you just break my zipper?” he asked breathily.

She held a tiny tag in her hand, and examined it. “Uh. Maybe?”

Megamind gave her an unimpressed look for but a moment before he snorted a laugh, and buried his face into her neck, shutting his eyes as he did. “Hah! Oh man! Now what am I going to do?” he asked, trailing one hand from her back to trace along her shoulder.

“I’m guessing Minion can mend it. Or I could get someone here to have a look at it.”

He shrugged, pulled back and looked at her. “Well it’s not that big a deal. I’ve had broken zippers before. Just. Never in these circumstances.”

“I keep on breaking your clothing,” she sighed, and dropped them back to the floor. “I’m guessing that silk shirt didn’t make the grade either.”

“You’ve been ripping my clothes for years.” Megamind smirked, “So many hours of tailoring, gone to waste in a blink of an eye. Minion never forgave you for the time you destroyed that studded feather number I had years back. He spent weeks on it.”

“Oh! I remember that one. Peacock feathers.” She smiled. “But... that was your fault it ended up covered in-”

“Everything seems to be my fault.” Megamind interrupted. He shut his eyes and turned away from her.

“I did not plan to be at a sewerage treatment plant that day. That was yours.”

He opened his eyes. “Well. Yeah. That was poor planning on my part. Anyway, we’re getting off track.” Megamind turned back to her, and wrapped both of his arms around her shoulders once more.

“Yes. We need to repair your suit. Well, if you want, you can take it off and I’ll get someone to repair it for you here.”

“Oh ho!” he said smugly, smiling in a self satisfied way. “Want to see me out of my clothes already? You do know this is a one piece, right?”

“I... uh. You could. Change somewhere in another... room. I can lend you...” She looked at him in horror. Her face finally blushed a fiery red, which contrasted with her hair nicely, and she even attempted to step backward.

He laughed triumphantly, glad to be the one with the upper hand for once and seeing her blush up a storm instead of himself. Megamind brought a hand up to caress her cheek and leaned in and whispered. “You’re cute when you blush.” he gave her a quick peck, “Really.” he pulled away and reached back, thumbing the broken zipper at the base of his neck.

“But I might need your help. Minion usually helps in opening the zippers at a time like this, and I need the extra hands to do it so...” he wriggled out of her grasp and dropped deftly to the ground below, “seeing how I’m about to be revealing you the true awesome that is my body I think it best we do this somewhere that isn’t a music room. As lovely as the décor is in here.” Megamind said, glancing around the room.

“Thanks” she said, flatly, then, making up her mind, grabbed him by the arm (carefully) and towed him towards a door he hadn’t used yet. “In here.”

The room turned out to be a fancy bedroom, very large, with a huge white bed, wide open windows open onto the balcony, and dark gold drapes pulled right back.

Megamind looked around the room wide eyed. “Is this your room?” he asked quietly.

“Yes. There’s a bathroom through there, and the hall door is through there...” she pointed around, and ran to the bed, pulling a pair of tall boots off the duvet and pushing them into a walk-in closet.

He went quiet for a while, before a small smile crept onto his face. “I’ve never been in a girl’s room before.” Megamind whispered as he watched her move around the room.

She raised an eyebrow at him. “Is it everything you imagined, oh handsome genius?”

“No.” he replied quickly. “It’s much better.”

“So when do you imagine my bedroom?”

“More like when didn’t I?” Megamind asked as he walked across the pure white carpet, and reached out to touch the golden velvet drapes. “Oh wow...” he whispered as he touched the material. “I always imagined you with golds and whites...”

“Well, at least you imagined me in clothing. Which is more than I can say for some.” She went and leaned in a window, staring out at the gardens.

He looked up at her before moving to stand by the window too, looking out to see. Megamind lifted both hand and pressed them to the glass and leaned in closely until his nose was almost touching the glass. “Oh... I remember these grounds...” he said wistfully.

“Yes. We finally managed to erase ‘Villainz rule ok’ from the lawns over on the left. But it took a while.” she grumbled.

He looked up at her, and saw a twinkle in her eye. “Class act huh?” he asked feebly before leaning against her, shutting his eyes as he did on a happy sigh.

“Hey, it was my fault. I didn’t blame you after that awful interview made national news.” She sighed. “And you were the only person to know that Wendeline Scott really was talking from experience when she said Heroes had a raw deal.... Well, you and Minion.”

“Hmmm hmm.” he replied before touching her stomach, but then pulled away and turned so he was facing the room instead of the window. “Just look at how... well. Big everything is! You couldn’t get any different from my own room.” Megamind said as he walked over to the huge bed and hesitantly touched it, as if expecting it to bite him. “Soft too...”

“The trick is to take a running jump!” was all the warning he got, before she sailed over his head and bounced on her back onto the bed.

Megamind jumped back, lifting his hands as if to shield his head. It was a natural instinct whenever he saw something flying overhead, and in close proximity to his enormous brain. He then blinked, taking in the sight of her thoroughly enjoying herself on the bed, messing up the blankets and sending a good few pillows flying.

How many times had he thought of her in bed like this? Far too many. He smiled hesitantly once more and moved to join her but stopped. Megamind knelt beside the bed, hands working at removing his leather boots. Unbuckling the top buckles on the boots he slid the knee-highs off and set them aside before finally climbing onto the bed.

It would do him no good to tread dirt onto her nice white sheets and upset her...
