Biology question

(Oh, uh, because I COMPLETELY forgot to mention it, I published a little Megamind x Reader thing on dA. Link! I completely forgot to mention that...)
Okay, first thing you should all know is that I'm sorry I haven't been on more often. My only consolation is that I've been using a good deal of the time to write.

Now, my actual question. I came up with a bit a of theory involving Megamind's metabolism. Now, I'm no good at biology, so I was hoping you guys could double check that it sounds plausible. It's kinda important; it comes up in this chapter of VU I'm working on.

As I'm sure absolutely everyone knows, the brain needs a lot of blood to keep itself running. Now, Megamind's brain, obviously, is very large. Therefore, his circulatory system must compensate for this in some way. I was thinking that maybe he has a larger volume of blood than a human, and/or it moves faster through his body. Perhaps, as has been mentioned in other fics I've read, he has an extra heartbeat per second, or it beats faster than a human's. I'm leaning towards the latter, I think.
In this case, it seems to me that his whole metabolism would have to be faster than a human's. Which would explain him being so thin despite his unhealthy eating habits. It also makes sense with his higher-than-normal energy level.
But I figure the downside to this would be him needing to take in more carbohydrates and calories than the average person does to keep such a metabolism going. Does that make sense?

(Not quite sure what to do with the tags, since I linked to that story, too... Eh, I'll just tag for both subjects.)
