And now...the Megamind Advent Calendar (of Evil)!

Nov 05, 2012 16:18

Okay, since I received at least some interest, I thought I'd go ahead with this Holiday Challenge and see how it goes! The time to fill prompts is getting smaller as the days go on, so I wanted people to have enough time to get inspired and complete their desired fanworks. And hey, even if we don't get enough to fill the entire calendar of ( Read more... )

Confusion?? vast_difference November 6 2012, 00:24:14 UTC
Ok, so I'm a little confused... (bear with me... I've been taking care of a sick 2 year old all day...) if we can't see the prompts, how would we find out what they are in order to "claim" them? Or will they just come up so that we can't see WHO gave each prompt, but we will be able to see the prompts themselves?? (I hope I'm not asking a stupid question.)

Not a silly question at all! I'm sorry I didn't make it more clear.

I'll be posting a master list on Sunday of whatever prompts we get. I'll assign each prompt to a day from December 1 through December 24, (Hopefully we'll get that many!) then people can browse the list and choose challenges that inspire them.

I'll probably unscreen the prompts on this post so people can see who made the requests right before everyone begins posting.

Did I clarify that okay? :)

Oh, ok, got it!! Definitely makes sense now. Hmm. I will have to try and think of a prompt idea... I don't know if I will fill one or not, cause apparently my current story has decided to turn itself into a Olloween, Thanksgiving, Krissmoos trilogy. Who knows though, I'm not quite sure what I want to do for the Krissmoos part yet... maybe a prompt could give me inspiration for the big finish!!

Some of my very favorite things that I've created for fandom have been from challenges like this! And they were things I *never* would have come up with if someone else hadn't given me an idea. Definitely hope you'll prompt something; you never know who or what your idea might inspire!

Cool! And I'm sorry I'm like that one kid who has their hand in the air like every 5 seconds today, (I am so done with those kids, and it's only November...) but are the prompts supposed to be holiday related, or does it not matter?

That's no trouble at all, sweetie! I had a friend in another comm who ran these things all the time. She rocked at it! I, on the other hand, have never done this before so I'm just sort of trying to find what works for us in this fandom. (And I really think it will be fun once it gets going!) :)

As for the prompts, as far as I'm concerned, they can be anything! Holiday themes are good, but not necessary!

I think I am a little confused about how we send our prompts and ideas.

Do we sent them via PM or do we post them here?

That's okay, I'll explain again.

As I mentioned above, all replies to this post are screened. (I've unscreened yours and some of the others so I could reply. But the ones that are prompts are currently invisible.) You can post your prompt here and I will compile all of them into a master list at the end of this week.

You can send your ideas to me in a PM if you really want, but it's also possible to just reply here. (That way I'll have them all in one place and, hopefully, won't miss any!)

I suspect seeing the un-screened comments from vast_difference confused me and not knowing that you can publish a post to the comm, but hide the comments.

Yep, you can! It's one of the options on the posting page. It comes in kind of handy sometimes! :)

So sorry about the confusion, though, dear. I hope some fandom goodness makes up for it! We've gotten a few really great prompts so far!

SHIT I jumped the gun confused why posts were screened and unscreened the first-- Sorry!

Mods can see them, just so you know :3

LOL! Yes, the mods can see all of them, but everyone else can only see the ones they posted.

And no worries! Yeah, I was only unscreening them if someone had a specific question that might benefit everyone else. :)
