More Incredible-ness!
While watching the Megamind film for the umpteenth time, I actually noticed a couple of things that, for some reason, I never noticed before. Ages ago, and I don't remember who because I seem to have misplaced my notes and cleaned out my messages, someone in the comm mentioned that it would be interesting to go through the film and count how often Metro Man's image appears, on t-shirts, posters, etc.
WELL.
I sort of almost blinded myself squinting at my little TV screen, so I'm afraid I had to give up on that particular project. However, incredibly, I actually discovered a two other items that I, personally, had never seen before.
Read on, if you dare. :)
1. A few months ago, there was a discussion about physics, and about the likelihood of someone actually being able to survive a fall from a great height by being grabbed out of the air without getting their neck broken. murasaki_yugata mentioned something in a post about how it was a good thing that Hal had brought a padded chair along. I thought it must be some reference to a joke that I didn't get. The joke was on me! There really IS a padded chair!!!
In the scene where Titan first introduces himself to Roxanne, and after he catches her in mid-air right before he brings her to the top of Metro Tower, HE DOES USE A RED PADDED CHAIR TO CATCH HER. It's there so briefly, and he drops it after a second or two, I somehow never noticed it before.
2. The statue on top of the fountain where the final battle takes place is a statue of Metro Man. Now how, pray tell, did I never see this before? I can only surmise that there is so much happening that the statue escaped my attention.
3. There are spikes on the tongs that he uses to pick up the DNA lozenge and put it into the infuser gun. He really does put spikes on everything!
4. This one is not really a discovery, more of an observation. In some ways the dance scene at the end is, admittedly, a bit weak. As others have suggested, a series of "where are they now" montage scenes may have been better. But I gotta say, I do love to see Megamind dancing with Roxanne! Just love the dancing.
So that's my show and tell for today! We are getting near the end of summer here, almost back to school time, hope everyone is ready for it!
