This thought came to me after watching "Mermaids" on AnimalPlanet tonight. I know that it is fanon for a few people that Megamind's species is semi-aquatic, or amphibious, because of their partnership with Fish as their Minions, for his blue skin, lean swimmers body, and various other reasons. I've come a cross stories where it mentions him being at home in water, having nictitating membranes, ect.
Well, what if part of the reason Megamind's head is so big is not only because of his huge brain, but because he has a Melon? The Melon in a dolphin is the bulbous region of the "forehead" that contains fat that helps produce sound waves in the form of sonar.
Perhaps Megamind's species has the ability to use sonar to navigate through deep water and communicate with others of the same species, or other intelligent aquatic life?
Just an idea! :) Feel free to use it or refuse it, haha.
