Something that came up a week or so ago in a PM exchange is whether Metro Man’s super-speed is common knowledge.
Going off of nothing other than my own reasoning I think the answer is, no. That neither the public or Megamind knew about Metro Man’s super-speed.
What is common knowledge is Metro Man can be very fast based off of the exchange Roxanne and a disguised Megamind have at the Metro Man Museum (“I kept thinking he was going to pull off one of his last minute escapes…”). However it could potentially be argued that in principle Megamind and the public knew about Metro Man’s super-speed, but what they didn’t know is exactly how fast he could go, or that at top speed he is capable of generating a gravitational/temporal field that stops time.
Now my rational for why this is not common knowledge boils down to this: if you knew that your rival had the ability to stop time, in addition to all his other powers, how would you feel? Maybe this says more about me, but killing someone who can stop time seems like a near impossible feat (timing would be critical and developing a weapon capable of immobilizing Metro Man would be extremely helpful).
Although I suppose you can make the argument that because this was a game to Megamind, it didn’t really matter if he won-therefore Metro Man’s super-speed is inconsequential. And killing Metro Man was not always Megamind’s objective.
And while I am on the topic does anyone have any scientific evidence or reasoning to support the argument Metro Man’s super-speed can stop time, or slows it down?
you know you're obsessed when . . .,
