This is the seventh chapter of my Megamind and Wicked cross. It is a blend of Wicked (the book and they musical) as well as Megamind.
Chapter One Chapter Two Chapter Three Chapter Four Chapter Five Chapter Six ***************************************
“I’m not going to the dance with you, Minion” Megamind replied, slightly frustrated. He had been telling Minion of the fact that no one wanted to go with him and that it bothered him somewhat. Yet he wasn’t so desperate to go that he was going to with Minion, there were enough rumors about him, one didn’t need to add a boy Fish in a tin suit to the mix.
“Are you sure, Sir, because you really seemed like you wanted to go?”
Megamind rolled his eyes, Minion just didn’t understand, “I want to go with a girl” His frustration started being heard in his work on the machination he was currently meddling with.
“Oh, very well then” Minion sounded almost … hurt. Did he really want to go?
Megamind sighed and thought he was really going to regret this, “Did you want to go to the dance, Minion?”
“Really, sir?” Now he was definitely exited, “I mean … I could pretend to be a girl, if that would help…”
Megamind looked at Minion, trying to imagine how he would pretend to be a girl in that tin body of his … it wasn’t a pretty image, “You really don’t have to do that”
“Sir, I would do anything to make you happy” Minion was wearing one of his more adorable toothy smiles
Megamind was heading to the dance with Minion; Minion was wearing a blond wig and a dress. How he had talked Megamind into that, he would never know; something about thinking it was what he wanted. Megamind sighed; he really shouldn’t have mentioned he wanted to go with a girl. Although, it was nice that he cared, Minion was the only one who did.
When they entered, everyone stopped whatever it was they were doing, they scattered and gasped or screamed at his very presence. He stood tall and held his chin up, if they were going to think him wicked … maybe he would just let them.
Minion had gone off with some girls to do some kind of line dance and left Megamind alone. He had thought Minion had wanted to come for him, but he guessed he had been wrong. He walked over to a fountain and looked at the falling water. He didn’t really like water, that feeling it gave was just so uncomfortable, especially if was stuck in the shoes.
“Careful” a woman said; he turned to see who it was.
“Roxanne?”
“You wouldn’t want to fall in” she had a strange smirk on her face, “I’ve heard it’ll make you melt”
He raised an eyebrow, “Why is that?”
“Something about your soul being unclean” she seemed sarcastic about it, like she really didn’t believe it
“You doubt that, the uncleanliness of my soul?”
“I doubt water would melt anyone … especially someone who would willingly stand so close to it” Her eyes really were beautiful
He glanced back at the fountain, “Maybe I’m really sick of this world and am hoping someone will just push me in”
Her smile grew, “You want me to push you in?”
He wasn’t sure if she was really asking or not, “No, not really”
She tilted her head, “Well, there you go. Just a boy admiring a fountain”
“Are you sure about that? Maybe my evil presence isn’t afraid of death and prefers the danger of its nearness”
“I’m sure” she chuckled, obviously not taking him seriously, “Well, I’ll see you later.” she pointed over to the dance floor
He nodded, “Yeah, okay” As he watched her walk away, he thought that maybe coming here wasn’t such a bad idea after all.
Bernadette walked up to Galimer, after having asked Minion to help Norman in the bathroom, she certainly wasn’t going to. “Hey”
He looked over at her, surprised; didn’t she remember that she wasn’t supposed to talk to him in public? “Yes, Bernadette?”
“I see you brought the princess of the Vinkus, very nice choice.” She smiled at him, but he could tell there was more behind that smile
“Yeah, you brought Norman, right? Didn’t I see you with him?”
Her face lit up, now her smile looked genuine, “Yes, I did bring him”
“That’s very sweet, it’s nice when girls aren’t so shallow and can look past certain things.” He was looking around, hoping he could spot Roxanne and get out of talking to Bernadette. Why did she have to go to the bathroom? Someone might see him talking to her, what would they think?
However, Bernadette’s smile widened, “Yes, that is good of me, isn’t it? You know all about good, don’t you, being Galimer the good?”
Was that why she had asked the boy? She was trying to impress him? He suppressed the urge to roll his eyes and sigh, “Yes, very good of you. I think the two of you make… a very nice couple” Maybe he could hint that it didn’t bother him for her to be with other people, although, for some reason it did seem to. Maybe it was because she was playing with the poor boy’s feelings, yes, surely that was why. What else could it be?
Bernadette’s face fell, “Thank you” She looked around uncomfortably for a second, crossing her arms over her chest and hunching her shoulders toward her head, “You and that princess do as well”
Was there hint of mockery in that statement? Surely not, however he looked at her with a smile, “Thank you very much” Then he noticed Roxanne walking through the dance floor looking around, she must be looking for him. “I have to get back to that princess now” He was very relieved to get out of that conversation, right? Well, he was glad that he didn’t have to worry about people seeing him with her. Yet he did seem to regret leaving so soon … with her upset, and he made her that way. Why did he care if she was upset? He shouldn’t care … wait, he was Galimer the good, he cared because he was supposed to care about how everyone felt … right?
