DE-gun 2.0: First cast success!
Woo, it finally turned out well! After a few tries, anyway. XD
Here 'tis:
Yep, that is the same piece as before, I just poured more resin into the mold (twice). And I’m pretty dang happy with it! <33 I’ll be leaving the plastic champagne flute in the mold so that I can glue the battery pack and LED assembly inside it, and I’ll just saw off the end so that it’s flush with the barrel.
I’ll also have to do some work on the mold itself before the next cast, as I found some places where it’s very thin or there’s a spot that’s likely to leak resin when it’s poured (which is what ruined my last mold shell--yikes!), but I should be back to casting within a day or so. :D
In the meantime, I've been working on my other costume project...a humanized GLaDOS from Portal. You can see it here on my Tumblr if you're curious. (What is it with me and villains? I think I have an obsession, hehe.) >:)
