And yes, for a place that builds superhero museums and erects towers to be "symbol[s] of [the] city's strength," Metro City does have a lot of abandoned buildings. (Observatories, factories, warehouses, that random highrise where Titan and Megs crashed down to the ground floor, etc.) So I figured there would be others, too. My version of the (deserted) Metro City Zoo is actually modeled after the old, local zoo in my hometown. (Though the building is still there, it's been closed for years. It was even once voted the 4th worst zoo in the U.S.) It seemed perfect! :)

I understand what you mean about wanting to get a fic just right, but you know we'll love it! I'm very intrigued by this snippet, and I have to echo dani-kin: are they in a zoo? It would certainly be fitting - proper supervillainous showdowns usually take place in some grand public location (which usually gets creatively and gratuitously trashed by the end XD)
Can't wait to see the rest of the chapter!

And, good eye! As I told Dani above, the zoo for the final showdown is based directly on one that used to be open in a park here where I live. (In my mind, it looks exactly like it, too - abysmal conditions and everything!)

Roxanne is certainly very anxious right now. She did her best to leave a trail for Megs to follow, but can't understand why he hasn't followed it yet. Which makes her situation even harder!
