Nashira was outside, stood looking over the lake. Or, at least, that's what seemed to be the case from a distance. Come closer, though, and suddenly the lake - the gardens - were no longer there, replaced by what seemed to be a boardroom, although one that seemed almost sci-fi in nature. Nashira herself had changed, too - gone was the white jumpsuit and in its place was a floor-length dress with a high collar, made from a material that seemed to shift between white and pale blue.
The room was lit by small orbs that emitted a soft green glow, casting elongated shadows on the white walls that curved upwards into a glass dome that revealed it was late at night. Too late to continue working, in fact, so she set aside the papers she had been looking at and was about to leave... Only for the door to be opened by a group of five men with uncomfortable but determined expressions.
"To what do I owe this pleasure?" she asked, eyebrows raised. "It is a little late for a meeting, gentlemen."
One man, clearly the leader, stepped forwards. "M'lady, this foolishness has been going on for far too long. I believe..." A pause as he glanced at his comrades, who gave subtle signs of agreement. "We believe that to continue like this would be tantamount to... to treason."
"Ah," she said softly, realisation dawning. "I suppose I ought to have seen this coming as soon as I saw you all together." Her gaze flicked to and from each of the men. "And here I thought my chancellor would only work with a royalist over his dead body." A small, humourless smile. "Or is it to be my dead body? That is the plan, I assume?"
Another round of uncomfortable looks.
"...If need be," replied the leader. "Yes. It is vital that we restore the natural order to our society."
"Nobody need be hurt!" broke in another of the men, his eyes wide and nervous. "Simply dismiss the treaty and all will be well!"
Nashira gave them a sad smile as she spread her hands. "I cannot. I swore to serve the people of this planet and that is precisely what I intend to do, no matter what the cost."
