We've got big pretty spiders in the Bay Area again! :3 Orb Weavers, but I figured I'd share them, and if anyone can ID the specific species I'd be super excited. I think some of them are cross orb weavers?
These two ladies (I'm going with ladies, anyway) live next to each other--less than a foot away when they're both in their webs. Unfortunately most of the time they're hiding in their corners where it's hard to get photos.
This girl lives on the opposite porch light. She seems to have moved since I took the picture, though. D: Now there's a smaller one where she was.
And this darling's taken up residence on my truck! She's way smaller than the previous three.
A few blocks away, my friend lamented having an influx of spiders at her house, too--so I whisked my camera off and got pictures of them as well. :3 More orb spiders, I think, although the little round ones look like they might be a different kind from the spiky one.
Sorry for the massive picture spam, guys--I don't have many people who'd enjoy looking at these girls, so I thought I'd share. :3 Wish I'd gotten better pictures of the juvenile black widows at my other friend's house so you'd have some variety, but alas. Sorry Flist, I know most of you hate spiders, but I know niisama likes them. ;D NIISAMA, LOOK, SPIDERS.
