Tap costumes <<;
Okay, so I'm sure you've all heard me rant a million times about the cost of my dance classes... tap in particular, so I'll spare you that rant tonight. But I do have some new complaints about my costumes as they've actually arrived now. We spent the entire class-time trying on our costumes and figuring out how they work. My opinion of the whole thing? We look like whores. <<; Seriously. And what's worse... my little sister is in this dance with me. My baby sister... dressed like a whore. Ugh. It'd be one thing if it were just senior tap that had to wear it, since we're all in high school or above. Kellie's 13... and looks about 10. This is just... wrong. <<;
Apparently my teacher finds joy in tormenting my sister and me. During my class (Kellie and I have two separate rehearsal times because this dance is really two classes combined into one), my teacher was making fun of the way my sister's costume fit. It's apparently really big and baggy on her. Or, at least, the stockings are. We have black stocking-things that are going to be held up with those little garter-clippy-things or whatever they're called. What did she really expect? 13 year-olds shouldn't be wearing that kind of thing in the first place... how can you really expect it to fit her properly? I understand that we're dancing to songs from Chicago, but she could have picked nicer... and cheaper... costumes. And we have to wear wigs... ugly wigs...
Anyway, what else happened today? Oh, I got my calc test and take-home test back today. ><; On the take-home I got an 88% and I'm content with that. It's higher than what I got on the first one, so that's good. But the test... I only got a 73%, eww. ><; That's... not great. But the people that sit behind me all got 50's, so I guess I don't feel that awful. This is the one thing I hate about calculus... it causes you to think ahead. Algebraic manipulation is definitely not my strong point. I know what I need to do to solve the problem, but I can never figure out how to manipulate what I have to get me there. I've definitely gotten better at it over the past two years, but I still have a long way to go. But chapter two is on derivatives, so that's a pretty much guaranteed good grade. Related rates should be coming up after that though... ugh. x_x I think I'll make my goal for this class an 80% average. I'd aim for a higher B... but I want this to be a realistic goal, heh.
...and I just realized, I really need an angry/annoyed/pissed off icon. All of mine are happy except for this one. XD;
Oh, but there was one good thing about today. I picked up a $135 paycheck. :D It sucks that it's all going to go towards paying for dance... but it's still a nice feeling to have that chunk of money for even a few days. Especially since I wasn't even expecting to get a paycheck anywhere near that size~
