The thing I've noticed over the years is that groups are difficult because everyone has their own opinions of how to make the group 'just right'. I find it easier to cosplay what you want, when you want, and if a group pops up and you can- tag along! But never ground yourself to one thing, limiting what you can do by what others say. Because no one is ever happy like that. ^_^ I have a ton of friends I cosplay with, and while a handful of them are kinda like a group, we all understand that at any moment we could change our minds about things, and no one's 'supposed' to be anything in the group. No one has to have a perfect costume either. I think, at least from what I saw when I first started going to cons, that Sailor Moon cosplayers often just went on their own, then ran into others and were like 'wow, now we have a group!' It's fun that way, because you don't have expectations. I got let into a group in cosplay once simply because I had my hair up like Chibiusa. Let me tell you, all I had was a shitty kimono and I didn't look a THING like her. But they let me in. Because it was fun. That's the sort of thing I think a lot of people forget now a days. *shrugs*
