[After days of wandering, Copy X has finally found what he's looking for: a repair lab. And a fancy one at that. This is the level of technology he's used to; the equipment is relatively similar to that of Neo Arcadia's lab, right down to the offline pair of Pantheon medic NPCs drones slumped in one corner. There are four separate tables for ( Read more... )

*Did you say you needed an interruption, emo X? Have Zero KICKING THE DOOR IN FUCK YEAH. Finally, a repair lab! And a creepy X! His brow arches at the sight, but that's not really something to get picky over right now. He carefully lowers the damaged X onto one of the tables, turning his gaze to Copy X.*

He has a pretty serious neck wound. Can you do something about it?

it's almost as if we had like three robots in need of serious repair allforarcadia June 29 2009, 20:45:38 UTC
*If Zero had shown up with anyone else, Copy would have laughed in his face -- no matter how outdated his armor is, each and ever Zero is an enemy. But because it's an X, Copy is at his side in a heartbeat, detached arm utterly forgotten. It definitely does look serious, but it looks like it should be a fairly straightforward repair. Patch up the severed coolant "vein," replace the lost fluid. Copy's no master repair technician, but he should be able to handle it himself.

...Just not one-handed, that's all.*

Don't just stand there, make yourself useful! Go get those Pantheons online, then find us some coolant fluid.

*He's a little offended at the implication that he's just standing there, considering how unfamiliar he is with the surroundings and obviously doesn't know where anything is, but the wounded X is the important one right now. Zero has no idea what a Pantheon is, but he can make a good guess. It doesn't take too much haphazard fondling to get the robots up and running, and they've already walked over to the table by the time he's back with a bottle of the fluid Copy X requested.*

*Aw, did Copy hurt the poor backstabbing Maverick's feelings? :( If you're expecting a thank you, Zero, don't hold your breath. Copy X is busy tending to X and snapping orders to the Pantheons. After a while, he does speak up, but it's still not a "thanks."*

He's still warm; he must have gone offline recently. As bad as that wound looks, it's more likely that he shut down to avoid overheating than as a result of taking too much damage to function. Barring any internal damage, he should be fine once we've replaced his fluid. Have him run a diagnostic when he wakes up, anyway.

Now, do you mind explaining exactly what happened? This isn't the clean sort of cut you would get with a beam weapon. If anything... it looks like he was attacked by some sort of wild animal.

*Thankfully, Zero wasn't expecting a thank you. It doesn't take a genius to notice that this X isn't his X, and considering his experiences with the whoreloids, he's used to people not acting like the people they look like. He's been busying himself fixing up the door. He didn't knock it off its hinges, but they're certainly loose enough to warrant a quick tightening.

...However, he didn't notice that it wasn't serious. He gives himself a mental slap on the wrist for that one. Telling yourself that you're staying cool doesn't mean much when you can't even assess the severity of a simple wound. He'll pay more attention next time.*

I have no idea what happened. I was walking through the halls and I found him like this, so I tried to find someone who could repair it as quickly as possible. Ask him once you've got him back online.

["Wild animal" is a fairly apt comparison, if X were conscious to reply. As for his current status, he's still out cold while Pantheons do their work and Zero and Copy X converse. ...if it can be called such. But at least no one's at anyone's throat yet. There's no telling when the injured X'll wake up, but most likely once the work is done, someone will need to manually boot him. Probably one of the Pantheons.

It's almost at that point, though, if things progress despite the attention of the two independent 'bots being elsewhere. With the coolant replaced and the vein patched, the major damage is dealt with. The remaining damage is the shredded synth skin and the damage sustained by the spirit. X might not be as pleasant as he usually is when he wakes up.]

*That "oh I conveniently found X's corpse in the hallways" story is met with suspicion, to say the least. Still, he's witnessed enough of Zero's style to know that it doesn't involve tearing and slashing like a beast. He'll play nice until he can hear X's explanation, at least. Which should be soon, by the looks of it; now that the fluid is replaced, there's not much left.

Even if Copy X were able to use both hands, repairing the skin is a job best left to the Pantheons. Copy's skill is limited; he wouldn't be able to patch up the skin without leaving behind visible seams, and the idea of scarring his original self is far too intimidating for him to consider trying. Once that's tended to, though, he's quick to step in again.*

Excellent work. Remain in sleep mode until further notice -- I'll take it from here.

*With the Pantheons dismissed, he busies himself with rebooting X. Because like hell he's gonna let Zero put his filthy Maverick paws on his original self. Gross. 8(...That should do it. He's probably going to be very ( ... )

[Actually, that distance is pretty ideal. Since as X's systems kick back into gear and register the repairs, X's last few memories jump to the forefront. ...Which involve a very Zero-looking Virus tearing into his throat and being very not-Zero. And the fear. Which just so happens to be the first thing to register on his features as his eyes open. With a startled sound, he jerks up to a sitting position, a hand immediately coming to rest over his face. His shoulders tremble for a moment, but he steels himself; while it's no more pleasant than it was before he collapsed or when combat started, reality is what it is. He'll have to get used to it and fast ( ... )

*Copy's beginning to get a feel for his original's expressions, but fear... that's a new one. One that doesn't sit well with him at all. Personal emotions aside, however, what his original needs is a someone calm, reassuring, and in control.*

Relax. You're safe. *A swift little glance to Zero follows that remark -- Copy X wouldn't consider any room with Zero in it to be safe, but surely even a heartless, bloodthirsty extremist knows when to mind his manners, right?* You were found out in the hallways, brought here, and repaired.

*The sudden movement startles and worries him, but he stands his ground, trying to soften his expression. The last thing he needs right now is an expression that could be interpreted as a reprimand for being damaged. It happens to the best of them, and Zero should know.*

You're okay now. I was worried when I found you, but it wasn't a serious injury.

[X turns to Copy X when he speaks, uncertain quite how he should respond. He's not sure if anywhere is safe at this point, not considering how... it is. He will not make it more sentient than that. X decides he'll nod to this... strange other him; it's at least polite. He rests a hand over the recently repaired section of his throat though, relieved to find it feeling significantly less torn apart. So he's at least safeer than he was before. However, when Zero speaks, that feeling of being slightly safer crumbles. After all, it's the same voice that he'd heard during combat ( ... )

[He's quite sure there's a tender BFF moment on the horizon, so Captain Cockblock here is just gonna go ahead and nip that in the bud. Copy X is all business, as usual.]

I know you're shaken, but tell us... what happened to you? I've yet to hear of any Mutos or animal-based mechaniloids here, but those wounds are hardly consistent with most humanoid machines' methods of attack.
