Graduation Weekend

May 27, 2007 10:53

So I have had a pretty great weekend so far.

Friday: My brothers girlfriend, Amy, and I went to a day spa in Occidental. My brother had given her a 2 person giftcard and she invited me to go with her :) It was such a great day. We got there around 10am. Looked around at the gift shop and was given tea while waiting. Then at 10:20, everything was ready for us. We got dressed in kimonos and went to a quiet room for tea. We sat and talked for about a half hour and then were escorted to the cedar baths, which we were in for about a half hour. Yes, we bathed in cedar, and it was so relaxing and rejuvinating. After that, we showered and then went upstairs for our 75 minute massage. My first professional massage, it was amazing! After that we went back to the gift shop and looked around some more and I bought some presents for people. Then we walked around the Japanese garden outside in the back for a little bit. After that we drove to town in Occidental and had a really great lunch and then drove to Sebastopol for a little ice cream. And then we thought that we needed a little more pampering and we went and got pedicures in Rohnert Park. I have never gotten one before so that was fun......something to do once in a while, not all the time.
That night I visited Kevin and he had his friend Aruna over and we just hung out and BBQed steak, which was perfect. Great day.

Saturday: Was my graduation. I now have a BA in Cinema cum laude! Got up early and got all pretty and drove to SF with my dad and Kev. (My mom, Nick, Amy, and Natalie went to Justin's graduation in the morning at the JC.) I showed Kev and my dad where to sit and where the stadium was and then went off to hang with my friends for an hour or so until the ceremony started. It was great hanging with them all together. Took tons of pictures. Then the ceremony started. I saw Ev, Tommy, and Fi as I was walking to the stadium because they weren't allowed to get in because they were a little late and had to wait until we all piled in our seats. But it was cool to see them because it took me hours to find them in the crowed from my seat. The ceremony was alright. We barely listened.....The best speaker was the Alumni of the year, and he was a filmmaker so it was perfect....and really funny. The rest of my family came a little late to the ceremony....after we all got to our seats....after an hour, they ended up not being that late. They all saw the ceremony in the student center on TV. After the ceremony we had a reception for the cinema students and that was pretty boring.....they called out all the graduates and made them make a speach.....gulp. I got up there and mumbled, "I just want to thank my family and friends" and that was it. It was so bright and I couldn't see anything up there and just lost all my train of thought. After the reception, Ev, Tommy and Fi left and the rest of us plus Darren went out to dinner at Lee Hau's and ate tons and tons off amazing food. I think we ended up getting 11 dishes and they were all eaten!

Today: Is my graduation party (sharing kinda with my brother). 40 or so people are coming. It should be funness.

Tomorrow: Pirates in the morning, then BBQ at neighbors house in the evening!

Thanks to all who showed up to my graduation. I really appreciate it and it meant a lot to me for you all to be there on my special day :) I love you boogers!
