Praise For The Curse!

Geez, it's been 3 months since the last time I made an entry in this thing.... but I'd might as well slip one in, since there is an extra day in this Easter weekend deal. **And thus, virtual chocoate eggs and bunnies to everyone who recognizes the subject line of this entry!** It doesn't seem like there has been a lot to talk about here lately, though. In regards to the pop-culture interests that I'm involved with, I haven't been putting it into any public outlets at all (not offline, anyway!) -- I don't know if I'll ever find my way back to CKDU again (or even set foot inside of it again, at this rate?!), and there's nothing going on with Shadowplay these days -- although it's seemed increasingly hard to inject anything that's very unusual - or particular to my tastes - in there anyway, since most people seem to be locked into a fairly conventional 'goth-industrial' motif, now more than ever.... as it is with most 'alternative' scenes these days, apparently!

Am I one of the few who sees this state of things as a sort of oxymoron??? Am I one of the few that even takes this stuff seriously at all, I wonder?! That's how it often seems. **Heh heh** Perhaps people just need to be left to wallow in it, for a while.... and maybe they'll be ready to wake up later on, if something new comes their way! Anyway, I've been moving away from actually trying to follow a lot of the music scene that's been going on these days, in favour of going back to artists from (more musically exciting!) times past -- plus, I've got my large continuing sideline in Asian pop cultural interests! {I'm not sure how much point there is in detailing it all here on LiveJournal, though. I have a few postings and applications on my Facebook page, which give a sampling of some of it, already....} Of course, that covers a lot more than just music! And, when I say "a lot" I mean A LOT!!! It's becoming an exhausting effort just to keep half-way on top of it!! Sometimes, I'm not quite sure if it's a blessing or a curse to have tons of awesome stuff becoming so easily available, the way it is now in this electronic age! (Even for those of us with the good sense and good taste to almost automatically know which things will bring such awesomeness to us - and are content to simply pass over the rest of it in silence - it can still be a chore....!) What's one to do about it all?! :O

Well, it's good to have options, I guess! Even if the options for doing much else in this city (or this chunk of the continent, actually!) are close to zero, at least I will never be running low on amazing home entertainment choices here.... It's finding the time for it all that's the problem!
