Chop! Chop! Chop!

I seem to be getting worse at keeping this thing updated lately.... not that there's been a whole lot going on, exactly! However, the things that I am doing seem to take up an endless amount of time -- to the point that it seems like I never have any time for anything at all, like I hardly have the time or energy to even think my own thoughts ( Read more... )

I'm sure that there will still be something around....! The Staircase nights are supposedly coming back I heard, possibly every 3 months or so?! Not sure if the Last Rites spinoff event from Blue Sunday will return or not -- but really, it might do this city some good to have to do without any events for a while!! ;)

Waittasec... does that mean that Shadowplay will finish on October 29th? The day after I get married.... Lisa and I hooked up at the first "official" Shadowplay, and it ends the day after we tie the knot. That's fucking crazy.

The perfect time to wrap it up, I think!!

It's already getting to be noticably past its prime; so, better to finish it on a potential high note rather than let it fall deeper into the doldrums, or to let it just lamely come to an end one day because Stage Nine can't pay the rent anymore....! Mel doesn't even work there anymore, and nobody involved seems to have the time to do much to really promote it, or to enact whatever gimmicks it might take to artificially prop it back up again.

This is not really a scene that's about music anymore, anyway -- it's more of a fashion trend than anything, and even that is more a part of the whole emo thing than the goth-industrial scene, these days.... (Not everyone actually makes a distinction between those two things, of course! But, the end result is still that it's not really a music-driven scene anymore.) Regardless of that, I'm still finding that it's just too narrow a format for me to really get worked up about doing it now, anyway!!

I agreed John, the format is too narrow now. I so enjoy seeing the playlists for Blender, and wishing I was there. That's the kind of night I've always wanted to do...
