You'll Never Believe It...

I got the job!  Holy cow!  How did it happen?  I don't know, but I got the job!  So starting next year I'll be teaching 2-hour classes on how to make comics every Saturday for two seven-week sessions.  I only get paid $15 an hour, which is sad (lame) but it's a non-profit cultural center, whatcha gonna do?  Also, the kids will be 14 and up, so HA!  No kids!  Imagine that!  My first non-commission job, and it involves what I actually went to school for!

And in other news, the day was otherwise long and tiring.  It started with me GOING with mom to the charity thing she'd signed up for, which was a good thing, and I'm glad I could help, but it was two hours or so standing in an assembly line stuffing backpacks full of books and toys.  Again, all good things for the kids, but I was in my "Hire Me!" high heels, and it was hot and humid, and I left for my interview with my hands feeling sticky and gross.

After the interview, we found lunch and then mom decided we should go outlet mall shopping!  Many hours!  And I'm not a natural shopper.  I shop like a guy.  If I know what I what, I'll go in there and get it, the end.  If I don't, I wander aimlessly and look bored.  My mother cures this problem cleverly by being my personal shopper.  She likes buying clothes for me, saying I'm fun to shop for since everything fits me.  (Untrue.)  Although half the time, she starts to get mad when I turn down one too many of her picks.  Thankfully not the case today, as her being mad in public equates to her storming off like a silent, quickly-moving thundercloud, staying angry and silent all the way home until she can run to her room and slam the door... OR breaking the silence halfway home by yelling and being generally explosively upset.

Sigh.

Gots me a semi-fancy black dress, though.  Can't imagine where I'll wear it, but you never know.  And got some other things.  Comfortable things.  Now home, dinner has miraculously NOT cooked itself, and I'm quite tired.

So that was my day.  Yay! Job!

And sore feet!

job success
