Game Pieces Quandary

Feb 18, 2009 23:06

Sooo, I'm making myself a set of game pieces for the Death Note game.  If and when I get to show it to the Viz guy, and even if I don't, it looks rather ridiculous with the little pink and green plastic flowers clips it's using now.  It needs real ones.  Respectable ones.  So I'm drawing them out now.  Only have four left to draw, then I'll ink on tracing paper and color on the computer, etc.  And I'm thinking I'll use Shinkydinks to make them.

SO.  QUESTION.  PLEASE HELP.  Shrinkydinks seem like the perfect solution.  They become tiny, plastic, and nigh indestructable.  Made great keychains, so they should work for this.  BUT NOW THE PROBLEM: How do I make them stand up?

My plan now is to make little notches and cross-pieces as stands, and glue them together in a little X.  I foresee this going wrong several times, though, and resulting in a possible waste of shrinkydink material.  (And my plan B was to stick them in little bricks of baked sculpey clay.)  DO YOU GUYS have any better suggestions?  PLEASE LET ME IN ON THEM!

Thank you very much!

Also to ZEDA, if you're seeing this or hearing of this, I am willing to share them if we present to the Viz guy together.   I would really like that.  I would also split the cost of reprinting the board.  I want to work together on this.  Please?
