Stop Growing Up!
So Happy Late Easter everyone!
Thought I'd post to talk about something my cousin and I were discussing during our family dinner. We were just standing there, watching all of our younger family members run around, trying to find as many Easter eggs as they could and he turned to me and said,"Where in the world is time going?"
I smiled as we both looked at his daughter, who is just about 3 months old and already pretty big. "She just needs to stop! I can't handle her being older yet. I'm not ready." He then looksed at me and grimaced,"Also....You need to stop growing. I won't allow you to get any older."
I laughed at this,"Oh so now you decide when your daughter and I age?"
"Damn right I do. I don't even want to think about you graduating and moving off to college. You my baby cousin and basically the sister I never had. I can't see you leaving. Last year I wasn't expecting any of this. A kid, a job, and now our family is kind of going their own way."
And that little story brings to my point. When he said that to me it definitely made me realize that he's right. Our family really is changing. I'm moving at least 3 hours away, while the reast of my family will be here. I guess I'm finally seeing how this effects not only me, but them. Don't get me wrong, they are totally supportive but it's hard for them. I mean I've always been the little girl that would pop up and tell them a load of random trivia and play video games with all night! All we can do is hope we stay close through the years.
Anyway, I'll end this ramble by asking yet another question. Have you guys been in my or my cousin's postion?? Let me know :D
