fun weekend, but tiring.
there was a mostly local music festival happening in durham, and i went to shows both friday and saturday nights. friday i saw gentleman jesse and his men open for dex romweber duo. jesse was amazing as per usual, and man dex howled on his beat up silvertone guitar.
saturday, i was about to go skating when i got a call from a friend that he had an extra ticket to the state football game, so what the hell i went and watched state barely beat a really terrible team. i think the best part of the day was the giant frozen lemonade i ate. later in the evening i met up with my good man brian who was in town for the duke/unc football game; we met in durham, at some breakfast for dinner, played some billiards at this awesome pool hall that looked right out of "the hustler", and then saw a show featuring veelee, schooner and lonnie walker, all great local bands. then i went home and slept like a rock.
sunday morning was awesome breakfast with brian and chelsea, then brian rolled back to wilmington and i took the dog to the dog park what for romping and such. he got groomed later in the day and no longer stinks like a dead fish, at least for a few days. fell asleep on the couch watching football. pretty much just vegged out all day, which was needed after the first part of the weekend.
this week looks to be rather uneventful...lambchop on friday maybe. hopefully some basketball. maybe go see "a serious man".
